Well today started out pretty fine. Though I found myself under the bed again, it was just so much more natural then laying on a lumpy piece of junk called a bed. It was colder outside, I guess everyone in the house knew since I left my window open letting cold air in and hadn't closed my door. I crawl out my bed and stretch, while letting my half self out for the time being.
I was in the shower and get dressed while hearing the constant sounds of angry New Yorkers. When I go downstairs, Uncle was down there while Aunt Tammy is happily cooking breakfast. She gets startled when she sees me in my form, I just yawn and sit myself down. I pout to myself about not being able to be myself, it's very difficult to hide what is only natural to do. I'm still sort of native to this world, this city, and this family. No one knows that my birthday is on December 21st. Well, Grandpa knows well perfectly. Uncle sometimes forgets while mostly everyone else forgot.
I'll be sixteen this year and many humans make this year very special with parties and a big get together. I personally don't see the specialty in it. I guess I will never experience it myself, no matter in this case. I have bigger problems as it is, keeping my secret from the world around me and getting good grades. Just being an average good girl, just for Grandpa. But I don't know how long I can take this pressure inside, my true self wants out and now. I have school, better get ready. So change back to my dull self, I felt heavy inside as usual.
"Ready to go." Maxwell said, and I just nod the same nod. He walks me to school as the cold welcomes me, winter will be coming soon. It was the fifth of December, and my birthday was coming. Maybe I can get Grandpa out of the hospital on my birthday, not even for an hour, just even for a few minutes. I would be satisfied. Get to school doing the same thing as I do, putting my stuff in the locker and sit in the classroom.............I'm early.
"Hey Miss. Silent. What are you doing here so early in the morning?" Someone asked, I turn to see Yoshiro standing at the doorway. I can see that evil aura around him, just what is this guy? Ever since he got here, I feel..................well..............I don't know! It's freaking me out just not knowing, like watching a horror movie and a guy pops out of nowhere with a knife. It's very obvious that there's something dangerous about him, just don't know what......................................................I wonder if I could get away with opening this window, I like the cool air. I just remembered he spoke after I turned back to him, how stupid of me. I get out my dry erase board and marker.
"I'm sorry, repeat yourself." I wrote showing him the board. He repeated himself, this time he sat right in front of my desk. "I always come here early, I like it that way."
"Why can't you talk? Were you always like that?" Yoshiro asked me.
"I'd rather not talk about it." I wrote and pulled out a book about winter. How the season causes some animals to sleep happily till spring and how each snowflake is different from one another. Soon people started coming in, and one thing after another, class started. But that's just the easy part of my day. At lunch I left to the library, I usually don't go unless I really have too. But today was taco day, so no crazy love sick couples would be in the library secretly wasting their lunch on kissy faces and others things couples do. I could be at peace, reading about myself. About dragons, my library has a lot of old books about the unknown. It's pretty cool though, this book has no cover so it's easy to find. At least to me, everyone puts a blind eye to it.
There, in the corner. My book sits next to some other random book with stupid story plots. I open it and sit in the back of the library so if someone really DID come in, they won't see me. It's sort of dark back here but I don't mind, it's cold as well.
Dragons....................there are many types, elemental and other types in this book. I look for the general dragon. They are a type of reptile, which fly obviously. With their extremely rare scales even the average cold steel knife can't even cut through it. Dragons are well known as extremely dangerous beautiful creatures.
An African region dragon is know to only eat elephants as it's diet, not much humans. They only attack out of defense. This specific dragon is known to hold a precious stone in it's brain known as "Dracontias" which holds many special abilities. But it would lose it's power when the dragon is killed or has died. In order to get it, the stone needs to be removed carefully as well as the dragon is alive.
Many other dragons have similar traits, to blow fire, attack humans, get killed, big victory. I stopped reading and put the book back, I could smell something familiar. I poke my head out to see Yoshiro and his sister walking in, they look serious.
"Let's make this quick, Dad wants that book." Stephanie said. Yoshiro rolled his eyes and starts to look around. What book could they want?
"Why is Dad so into finding dragons. You know their not real, it's just a story made up by writers." Yoshiro replied looking trough books. I grab the dragon book and slip it into my bag. I couldn't let them have this book. Not just for me, but if there are more out there I don't want to see them hurt. I throw something across the room making those two walk to it as I run out. I guess they guessed it so I had to get out of school. I ran out of the school's exit and headed home. I knocked on the door and Maximus answered, he's the last person I wanted to see.
"You crazy brat aren't you suppose to be at school?!" Maximus shouted. I ran in and tried to go to my room but he grabbed me hard before I could. One thing led to another and Maxwell and Tammy came home to me in my half form growling at Maximus while he had a chair. I jump him and he used the chair keeping me back, so blew fire on it burning the chair.
"No! That's expensive!" Tammy pouted. Maxwell grabbed us both and told us to go chill. I went to my room and got out a marker so I could add another tally to the amount of fights I had with Maximus. That jerk is a pest, who only cares about himself. I didn't let Uncle see me, in fact I left the house trough my window leaving to see Grandpa. He knows me best, and he'll know what to do. But I won't tell him about the incident, I want him happy.
Cause in reality, I am not real, but some sees through that illusion. The illusion of the obvious.
