Anakin caught up to Serra at her quarters. To his confusion, she was still clothed, minus her gauntlets. He went to ask, but she spoke before him
"No. Not for a while. You have not quiet earned the privilege of bedding me. But I will give you a different kind of pleasure. The pleasure of being in my company, of spending time together outside the bedroom."Anakin thought back to the long hours he had spent talking with Padme, and the simple pleasure it bought him, of just being in her presence, the conversations they had had, hours spent, talking about small things, and how it had strengthened them, more than any pleasure of the body could. Knowing they had someone to turn to, someone who, if they could not understand, would at least try to comfort them. He wanted that with Serra. He would gladly never bed her if it meant that she and him could have the companionship, the steadfast loyalty that went beyond the mere physical. He would gladly return to his accursed suit even, if it meant that he could have a friend, a comrade; possibly even a companion such as that again. And so, he agreed.
