As Anakin followed Kira through the ship, he marveled at Serra's work. Spotless, brightly burnished paneling, bright, steady lighting, even the guard droids standing watch at every intersection, all looked as if this ship had just rolled off the line; even down to the overbearing smell of coolant in the pipes. Kira paused for a second, and turning to Anakin, asked
"Did Serra happen to tell you this vessel's name ?"
Anakin shook his head
"No. I will comm her and ask though."
Serra answered the comm quickly, and her reply froze Kira mid stride -
" 'Republic Cruiser Vigilance, commissioned four standard years after First Battle of Korriban.' Why do you ask ?"
Kira wheeled around, and nearly snatched the com link from Anakin's hand
"Are you sure Serra ? Make absolutely sure."
Serra's irritated replay came through-
"Yes, I am sure. 'Republic Cruiser Vigilance, commissioned four standard years after First Battle of Korriban.' Why the concern ? What is so important about this cruiser ?"
Anakin could feel the exuberance and excitement radiating off of Kira in almost overwhelming waves.
"During the Great Galactic War, the Order commissioned a fleet of corvette's specifically for the Jedi. The Defender class light corvette. Before then, we made do with retrofitting hammerhead class cruisers. This is one of them. Specifically redesigned with the Jedi in mind. At the time, when Jedi went to war, most donned armor of some sort, from heavy plate to light plastisteel. All twenty ships were refitted with several lightsaber crafting stations, an Jedi-esque armory, several training rooms, and a miniature holo library replica of the Archives on Coruscant, in addition to multiple other amenities."
Anakin could not help it, he was excited as well. This could well mean that the holo library was functioning, and that it was still stocked with its data banks. Not counting the ability to repair or craft lightsabers and armor. Anakin inquired
"What deck are these 'amenities' on ?"
Kira answered
"Deck 4, Intersection B-2."
He continued, pressing his inquiry
"Do you think that the holo libraries still work after three thousand years ?"
Kira's shoulders slumped.
"I do not know."
