Sparring

Anakin and Serra had sparred for hours. It had taken them a bit to grow accustomed to the weight of the blade, and it's weird balancing, but they learned quickly, and were now sparring full speed. When they had gotten a firm grip of the use of the blade, Kira herself joined in, and outstripped them with just as much ease as she had in their duel.

Locking blades with Serra, Kira noticed Anakin coming in to her side. She grabbed his wrists, pushing them up, and kicked him in the stomach; sending him flying backwards to impact the padded wall. Focusing back on Serra; she pushed, directing their blades downward, where she aimed a lighter kick at Serra's hands, hoping to force her to drop the blade. Serra jumped, flipping over the kick and disengaging the lock, swing toward Kira's head. Kira reacted on instinct; dodging, before she felt a blade resting about three inches from her back. Pausing, she dropped her vibroblade, before turning slowly with her hands raised in submission. Instantly, she pushed Anakin with the Force, sending him sliding back, before calling her weapon to her, and his as well. Leaping after him, she landed on top of him as he fell; both blades scissored across his neck.
"Dead."
Sensing Serra running up behind her, she turned, and with a twist of her wrist had disarmed the other woman and had a blade at her neck.
"Dead."

She dropped the blades and collapsed to the ground, heaving for breath; as did Anakin and Serra, releasing their hold of the Force that had sustained them for the past hour. When she caught her breath, Kira nodded in approval.
"Good. You learn quickly. There is little left I can teach you about common technique with a vibroblade or a lightsaber, though you still have much to learn about manipulating the Force. When I am finished with you, you will be able to construct a fully functional droid of your choice using the Force. But for now, we are done. You are dismissed, and Serra ? I need to speak to you, in private."

As Anakin left the gym, Serra turned to Kira, a questioning look on her face.
"Yes Kira ?"
Kira paused for a moment, unsure of how to say what she was soon to say. She decided for the direct route.
"Have you and Anakin bedded ?"
At Serra's look, she hastily added
"I neither need nor want to know the details. A simple yes or no is what I desire."
Serra decided that honesty was the best option.
"No. I do not yet feel comfortable with making love to Anakin. Though I have let him get a feel in though."

Kira smirked
"You remind me of myself. A bit of advice, coming from personal experience. Go ahead and bed him; or don't. It is your choice. If you choose to bed him though, do it soon and get it out of the way. It will help with what I am going to tell you next."
After a pause to let her words sink in, and taking Serra's silence for permission to continue, she continued:
"The Council is wrong about many things. They were wrong in my time as well. But they were correct about one. Your feelings for him are good. They can provide strength, motivation... but they can also be a distraction. You must learn to control your feelings for him, and he for you. It is incredibly difficult. I know; I have had to do it myself. I apologize if this came out wrong or misguided. It was not my intent."

Serra remained silent for several minutes, and Kira feared that she had overstepped her bounds. Turning to leave, Serra called out to her
"Wait. I need to thank you. You are correct; and you made me realize something. If just a thought distracts here, in sparring; how much more will it distract when on the battlefield, or when he is in danger ? For opening my eyes, and helping me; and my husband, I am honored to call you my friend." Kira was surprised when the other woman grabbed her in a hug. Awkwardly patting her on the back, Kira disengaged; and asked
"Do you happen to have a top and a skirt that I can borrow ? I like the look, and the freedom of movement in combat it offers."
Serra smirked and said
"You sure your not just trying to steal my man ?"
At Kira's shocked expression, Serra laughed and said
"I'm joking. I believe you when you said that you have no interest in him. Come on. By the time I'm done with you, you will make a Twilek green with envy."

The two women talked long into the night, about past experiences, romances, and Kira was more than happy to give some advice of a different kind to her un-experienced new friend. Late that night, Kira left, her arms piled with pleather tops and skirts.
