As Anakin chased after the assassin; he noticed the burnt and smoking shells of several guard droids; and several blood splatters.

As he rounded the next corner; he spotted the assassin just ahead; fleeing; and without thought, hurled a bolt of Force Lightning at him. It impacted, and Anakin watched with satisfaction as the injured assassin crumpled to the deck; writhing in pain, and clutching the stump of an arm to his chest.

Anakin smirked as the assassin fell; writhing in pain. With the familiar snap-hiss, he ignited his lightsaber, the tip pointed at the assassins neck. Anakin spoke, through clenched teeth; very nearly growling:
"You will pay dearly for what you did to Master Sinube. My friend. My mentor."

Anakin paused then, overcome with emotion. He realized only now that he had come to view Master Sinube somewhat as he had viewed Obi-Wan. A mentor, a friend.... a brother. At that, his anger flared again; and extending his hands, the Jedi turned Sith turned Jedi unleashed a flood of lightning toward the assassin. As thoughts of grim satisfaction flowed through him, Anakin was snapped out of his dark reverie as he felt a hand on his shoulder. Losing his concentration, the lightning faltered and faded, and he turned to look at who would dare to interrupt him. His anger, fury, rage and grief drained from him the moment he turned and saw Kira take a step back, a look of fear on her face.

Kira raced after Anakin. She knew the look on his face; and the intent of his mind. She had at once succumbed to her rage and grief; and a life had had to pay the toll for such. She did not want him to make the same mistake.

She caught up to him just a few meters down the corridor. As she turned the corner and saw Anakin standing over the prone figure of the Sith with his lightsaber pointed at the dark sider's throat; she laid her hand on his shoulder and waited for him to stop.

He turned to look at her; and for the first time since her master and betrothed' death; she felt a tendril of pure fear grip her. The young man's eyes; normally a cerulean blue were a molten yellow, rimmed in red. As she took an instinctive step back in fear, she saw his eyes instantaneously shift color; and watched as he seemed to sag, inwardly collapsing on himself.
