AEROS POV
I was left waiting in the visiting hall for what felt like forever. I felt miss placed sitting here, like I don't belong. Probably because I don't belong here, but my brother might. I always knew my family would end up in the looney bin. I just always assumed it would be my father.
"Ms. Carlton?"
I turned my head to see a tall man with a clipboard. I stood up and asked, "Are you Dr. Jordan?"
"Yes." He said. "You're here about your brother Parker, right? Right this way." We went through two doors and into a long hallway."What exactly even happened?" I asked as we turned a corner.
"Your brother was highly intoxicated and acting suicidal."
Not what I expected."How do you know?"
The doctor held his clipboard against his chest. "He was standing in the middle of traffic yelling "hit me!"." He frowned. I nodded my head. Suicidal? Really? I thought he'd been in here for killing someone or something."So we have to hold him here for 24 hours on a suicide watch." Dr. Jordan said. "Can I at least see him?" I asked.
I continued to follow him down the long narrow hallway. We came to a stop in front of room 243. "Go ahead in."
I opened the door, and stepped inside the room. It was a lot bigger then I would have guessed. The walls were lined with dark grey paint, and the small bed was covered with a white blanket. Parker was sitting at a desk staring out the window.
"Parker?" I said making him turn around.
"Oh hey Aero." He stood up and approached me."How are you-"
He cut me off with a hug.I didn't know whether to hug him back or not, considering the last time we hugged was- when was the last time we hugged?
"I'm so glad you're here to see me!" He let go and smiled.
Clearly they had him doped up with some medicine."Did they give you something?" I asked this new Parker... a nicer Parker.
"Yes as a matter of fact they did- closure. Guess who I still talk to in here? Dr. Freeman! Oh I love that guy!" If his smile got any bigger, I swear his mouth would fall off. There is something very wrong here.
He went over and sat on the bed and patted an empty stop next to him."Actually I think I should get going now." And before anything else happened, I ran out of the room. I ran down the hallway until I saw Dr. Jordan sitting at a desk.
"What medication is my brother on?" I asked exhaling. Jeez, I should run more.
"He's not on anything." Dr. Jordan looked up at me.
"He's seems pretty high on something. What did you do to him?" People started to look at me. I should quiet my voice down or I might end up in here myself.Doctor Jordan stood up. "Unless you consider being high on life a thing, then nope. He's just...sober."
2 months laterPARKERS POV
I slammed my car door shut, and then locked it. There was a slight breeze in the air which brushed my skin sending chills throughout my body. My phone beeped so I took it out of my pocket. It was a messages from Aero that read: "Don't forget it's a large fry!"I open the door, and entered Burger King. I got in line behind a guy who seemed to be like 5 feet taller then me. Not intimidating at all.
I felt a push from behind and went straight into the tall dudes back."Sorry!" I chuckled a little. With an annoyed look, the tall guy turned back around.
I turned around to see what hit me, and that's when I saw her. She was crouching on the floor picking up coins she had dropped. She looked up at me as I awkwardly stared at her. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to hit you, I tripped!" She said struggling to pick up the coins. I bent down and started helping her still not saying anything. I couldn't help but stare at her face.
"Is something wrong?" She stood up zipping her wallet.
I stood up too, not being able to break my gaze, and I felt my eyes start to water.
"Did I hurt you? Do you have back problems or something? I'm so sorry!"
"No." I clear my throat. "You just look a lot like someone I used to know."
"It's your turn to order." She pointed at the counter and smiled.
"After you." I let her go first. Laughing, she said, "Okay...thank you."
I waited for her to finish ordering, and then I asked if I could sit with her, because she was alone.
Siting down at the table, I asked her for her name."Amy."
I might have come off a little creepy, but I'd couldn't help it. Her smile was the same. Her hair is the same. Her laugh is the same. Her eyes are the same. If Lila had a identical twin, I'd say it was Amy.
