Chapter 5 Part 1

In the morning, I saw that Fergus was still asleep. So, I got dressed, got some coins, and got on a horse. I rode to the nearest village. The village was small and cute. I got off my horse and started to walk around. The was a market set up in the middle of the village. As I walked around, I bought some food that seem fresh. Looking at an apple, something caught my eye, something shiny. A stand with beautiful jewelry and gems. All of it was amazing, but one necklace caught my attention. It was a beautiful sapphire. I would love to buy it, but I already spent my money on food.

"You see anything you like, miss?" A deep Italian voice questioned.

I looked up and found a man with dark features, looking at me. "Oh, no. I was just looking."

"A girl this pretty is never "just looking". You seem to be attracted to the bold and beautiful sapphire." The man grabs the necklace and walks around the stand to me. "And a bold, beautiful sapphire deserves a bold, beautiful owner."

The man was about to put the necklace around my neck, but I stopped him. "I don't have money." I told him.

He looked in my eyes. "I don't need money. I just need to know that a beautiful necklace goes to a beautiful girl."

I moved my hair and the man put the necklace on me. "Thank you." I told him.

"I'm Bruno." The man said.

"Patience."

"That's a lovely name." Bruno told me with a sly smile on his face.

This man is quite strange. "Thank you. If you don't mind I really must he going."

Bruno rushed in front of me. "You must stay. Stay with me."

This is getting strange... "I can't. I won't."

"Stay with me. Be mine." Bruno begged, grabbing my hand, getting down on his knees.

"Nien! I don't know you!" I shouted at him, pulling my hand away.

Suddenly, I could hear someone clear their throat behind me. Slowly turning around, my eyes widen. Alustriel was standing behind me with her hands on her hips. "Do we have a problem here?" She questioned, gritting her teeth.

Bruno quickly got up. "No. Ma'am."

"Good." Alustriel's eyes were stuck on Bruno. It looked like she was trying to kill him with nothing, but her eyes. "Let's got Patience. And get rid of that ridiculous thing!" Alustriel ordered.

I took off the necklace and threw it at Bruno. Then I ran after Alustriel, who had my horse.

"Where's Fergus?" Her voice was stern.

"Um... He's back at the farm." I quietly answered.

Alustriel glared at me. "You foolish child! You came her by yourself?"

I don't get what her problem is...

"You could have gotten robbed or worse. If something happened to you... Fergus would be devastated! You may think he doesn't care about you, but he does." Alustriel quickly looked forward. Her face may look like she's angry, but her words say different. I think Alustriel cares about Fergus.

"Do you... ah... care about Fergus?" I quietly questioned.

Her have turned red from angry. She snapped her glare to me. "Fergus is a friend! And if you hurt him. I will kill you."

I looked forward and stayed quiet the rest of the way home.
