It had been a week since the accident and Cas was miserable. In fact, each day that Gabe didn't wake up, Cas just got more and more miserable. He kept blaming himself for the accident even though people kept telling him it wasn't his fault.
But it was. Cas got caught up thinking about Dean and how he wouldn't get to see him for awhile. He got lost in his thoughts and next thing he knows, he hit something and the car flipped. But he wasn't ready to tell anyone. Not yet.
He went to the hospital to find Sam there, staring longingly down at the comatose boy. He wanted to help Sam in any way he could, but the young Winchester had fallen into a minor depression and wouldn't talk to anyone but his brother.
Cas walked to the doorway as quietly as he could. He stopped when he heard Sam talking to Gabe. "Don't... die" he was saying, his voice cracking on the last word, "please, don't die Gabe. Cas needs you. Your family needs you. I need you. So please, please don't die. Wake up. Just wake up Gabriel!" Sam clenched his fists and Cas knew he needed to comfort the poor boy.
He walked in to the room and opened his arms to the poor kid once Sam had turned around. Sam, who was comfortable with Cas, ran to him and accepted the hug. Cas looked down at Sam lovingly. He thought of him as a little brother.
Suddenly they heard a gasp. Sam whipped around and saw Gabe, eyes closed, having what seemed to be a bad dream. He was flailing and twitching like crazy. Thankfully, Cas had dealt with Gabe's dreams before and knew exactly what to do. He went over to Gabe and put his head in his own lap. He began rubbing his back in small circles and whispered words of reassurance. "It's okay. It's alright." He was saying. Gabe took a few deep breathes and calmed down, eyes still closed.
"How did you know he would hear you?" Sam asked, "when a person is comatose, they might not be able to move, but they can still hear their loved ones. They can still hear people." Cas explained. "Oh." was all Sam said as he realized Gabe could hear him. He went back over to Gabe and hugged him tight and whispered, "wake up Gabe. Please wake up."
~~Sam just wanted Gabe to wake up. He wanted it more than anything. Pleading Gabe to wake up was the last thing Sam said to Gabe before he heard a collective gasp and noticed that Dean had come in at some point.
They had gasped because Gabe had just woken up. Sam, wide eyed and smiling, rushed over to Gabe and wrapped him in a hug. "Bit affectionate aren't we Samantha?" said Gabe's weak voice. Sam weakly laughed, tears streaming down his face. "Don't ever do that again you bastard." Sam whispered.
Gabe chuckled and hugged Sam back before Sam did something he'd been wanting to do for awhile. He pulled away and smashed his lips against Gabe's. Gabe's eyes went wide with shock but he soon closed them and kissed Sam back. He loved the feeling of Sam's lips against his. They felt soft and expressed wanting. Gabe, surprisingly, was the one to pull away first. "I love you, Gabe" Sam whispered, "I love you, too Samantha." Gabe answered.
Dean cleared his throat. "Ahem, no chick flick moments please."
Sam just glared at his brother, "shut up jerk."
"Don't be such a bitch" Dean shot back
They laughed at their ridiculousness.
Cas just smiled at this weird course of events and went over to hug his brother.
~~Gabe woke up. Sam and Gabe officially got together. Everything was the way it should be.
Hey guys! So sorry I have to cut this chapter short. My phone is dying and I'm not near a charger so I have to conserve my battery. I'm also sorry for any missed edits and wording errors. But I hope you enjoyed reading the chapter all the same!
