12- The Unexpected

The next morning, Cas met Sam and Dean at the hospital. He was honestly quite surprised Dean was able to get  Sam out of his room, with the bad state he's been in. But, regardless, here they were. Sam still looked very upset and Dean gave Cas a grim look.

They were all silent as they entered Gabe's room. His passing out wasn't just, you pass out you wake up in 5 minutes kind've deal. He passed out and full on relapsed. Cas looked solemnly at his brother. He, like everyone else, just wanted Gabe to wake up and for everything to be alright.

Sam looked over at Cas with a single shred of hope in his big, once bright, hazel eyes. Cas had to tell him the truth, so he shook his head with a big frown on his face. You could see in Sam's eyes, the shred of hope, cracked. This broke Cas, but he couldn't lie to the kid.

Suddenly, Sam lit up a little and sped off.

Sam had gotten an idea. It probably wouldn't work, but it was worth a shot. Right? He remembered what the doctor had said before, "if you believe in magic, true love's kiss..." He didn't completely believe in magic, but it was worth a shot.

He sped off back to Gabe's room and sat on the edge of his bed. "If this doesn't work, please forgive me." was all he said before putting his lips on Gabe's and kissing him with all the love he could possibly feel toward that boy. Which was a lot. He breathed into the kiss, tears rolling silently down his slightly tan cheeks.

He pulled away reluctantly and watched the boy he loved ever so carefully to see if there was any  improvement. Nothing. He got up and was about to walk away, when he felt a hand grab his wrist. "Where you going, Sammy?" Came Gabe's voice. Sam, wide eyed and slack jawed, whipped around to see his boyfriend starting at him with those mischievous golden eyes that Sam loved so much.

Sam kissed him with so much force, Gabe was almost knocked backwards. Sam chuckled and deepened the kiss, tangling his fingers in the shorter boy's hair. Gabe pulled away, panting. Their eyes were still closed, their foreheads, touching.

"You really need to stop this" Sam breathed

"What" Gabe whispered, smirking

"You know damn well what" Sam chuckled

"I can't help it if I relapse" Gabe defended

Sam sighed and pulled away. "I know that." He said, running a hand through his hair, "but it still hurts when you do."

"Aw Sammy. Don't cry. Don't cry my Samoose." Gabe said, pulling Sam into a hug.

Dean looked at his boyfriend and smiled. He loved his ocean eyed, raven haired angel. Nothing would ever break them apart. Nothing.

He stared at Cas and Cas stared back. But there was something hidden behind the love that always showed in Castiel's eyes. There was... worry.
"What's wrong Cas?" Cas looked at him like a deer in the headlights. "I- nothing. It's nothing Dean." But Dean wasn't stupid. He knew it wasn't nothing. "Castiel Novak, I know when you're lying. What's wrong? I want to help you."

Cas sighed, "it's my fault Gabe is in here. It's all my fault Dean." Cas' voice cracked as his eyes filled with tears. "Oh Cas! Not this again! It isn't your fault baby. You just hit something in the road and the car flipped. That's all." Dean tried to hug Cas but he pulled away. "No Dean! It really is my fault. I got distracted thinking about you and I hit something I should've seen and next thing I know, I'm on my head, and my little brother is knocked out!" Cas was crying by this point, "I was supposed to look after him! I was supposed to keep him safe! I failed my one job and now I pay the price! I don't deserve to be happy while my brother suffers! I forgot to keep him safe! I don't deserve this happiness I feel when I'm around you! I don't deserve any of this!" He was breathing hard, tears streaming down his face, he had shouted himself hoarse. Dean was shocked and heartbroken by his boyfriend's words. "W-what are you saying Cas?" He asked, voice quaking. "I don't deserve you." was all Cas whispered before turning on his heel and walking out of the hospital.

Dean stood there shocked and heartbroken. He pulled Sammy away from Gabe and they drove off.

Hey guys! Wow! That chapter was emotional! I never knew I could do that! I hope you enjoyed that chapter! Are any of you back in school yet? If not, what have you been doing all summer? Me? I've been writing and reading and doing fun stuff here and there.
