Chapter 17 - Aslans Country

Lilies surround us as we row Caspian and Edmund as the Oars while Lucy i steering all around is white. i was truly beautiful, i picked up a lily and held it.

"so what was it like when Aslan changed you back" Edmund asked his cousin.

no matter how hard i tried i couldn't do it myself, then he came towards me. it sort of hurt but it was a good pain. you know like when you pull a thorn from your foot, being a dragon wasn't all bad. i mean i think i was a better dragon than i was a boy, really. I'm so sorry for being such a sop and well calling Alan a cat he was much more." he said the last part to me and Christopher.

"it's okay Eustace, you were a pretty good dragon" Edmund replied.

"your alright you made up for the comments you made i did have a fun time being one of two up in the air with you." i gave him a side hug.

"my friends we have arrived"  Reep informed us i looked up it was a long beach the wavers that curved but never came down it was a wall of water. we waited as everyone else got out first before we saw my father i walked on one side of him and smiled.

"Aslan" Eustace saw him, they all turned around. facing us.

"welcome children, you have done well very well indeed, you have come far and now your journey is at its end." he spoke.

"is this your country?" Lucy asked

"no my country lies beyond" we looked to the water.

"is my father in your country?" Caspian questioned

"you can only find that out for yourself, my son. " he paused looking to me i knew how to finish.

"but you should know that if you continue that there is no return" he looked at me before going up to the water and holding out his hand before turning back.

"you're not going" Ed asked

"can't imagine my father would be proud that i gave up what he died for. i spent too long wanting what was taking from me and not what was given i was given a kingdom...people. i promise to be a better king" he vowed.

"you already are" Christopher smiled

"children" he looked to Ed and Lucy

"i think its time we actually went home Lu" she turned

"but i thought you loved it here?"

"it do  but i love home and family as well they need us. besides we have Narnia always with Emma, Christopher and Ella" the was a clearing of a throat and Reep came forward

"your eminence, ever since i could remember i have dreamt of seeing your country. i have had may great adventures in this world but nothing has dampened that yearning. i know I'm hardly worthy but with your permission i would lay down my sward for the joy of seeing your country with my own eyes." i looked down this was very say and my eyes were starting to water

"my country was made for noble hearts such as yours no matter small their bearers be" Father replied

"your majesty" he bowed.

"no one could be more deserving" i add he tries to protest

"it's true" Ed bows which he returns, Lucy comes closer

"may i" she asks he shrugs and she hugs him at first he's startled but hugs back  Eustace comes over and cried

"i don't understand will i not see you again ever"

"you're a puzzle but i have never made a better friend" he bows. Christopher and i step forward.

"not getting away that easy Reep" we kneel to the floor.

"never imagined i would your majesties" i held out my arms and i hug him before giving him to Christopher.

"for my high Queen and daughter of Aslan" he takes out his sward and gives it to me.

"thank you. and for your journey" i point to a small boat" he smiles and runs to it climbing it and rowing looking back i smile but still cry.
