Phil's nurse convinced the doctor to let me stay with Phil by using the 'It would be good for their vitals, sir'  excuse. Around noon, the same nurse, who I forgotten the name of, walked in while we were watching TV. We were out of the stupid hospital gowns and wearing the clothes we wore before the incident. "Hi Amy! What's the news?" Phil sat up and smiled, but she didn't. "Well. I have some good and bad news," she gave us a slight smile. I sighed, "What is it?" She glanced at the papers in the folder she was carrying, "Dan, you uh- When the car drove by and hit your leg, it also knocked your head back." I raised an eyebrow at her and sat up, "I already knew that, but it didn't do any damage did it? I mean- It couldn't have." She sighed, "Those tests we took last night, they were to test your memory." "What tests?" I tilted my head and heard a noise from Phil. "See, that's the issue. You hit your just in just the right spot that it knocked your short-term memory. It'll go away in a couple of months," the nurse's voice grew quiet at the end. My eyes opened wide, "A couple of months?!"

The doctor let us go home after sending us off with pain medication and an appointment soon to check-up on us. A nurse, I think it was the same one from earlier, but I couldn't pin down her name, was pushing me out of the hospital in a wheelchair. Phil was carrying crutches in his right hand and his left hand was being held in a sling. "Do we have anyone to pick us up?" I asked Phil. He nodded, "Let me call him again real quick." I nodded and turned around to the nurse, "I think we have it from here. Thank you." She smiled and helped me standing as Phil gave me the crutches. Phil smiled and poked my nose, "He's almost here!" "Who's almost h-" "I'm here to pick up the Howells!" A familiar voice chimed. "Peej!" I cheered. Phil went in for a hug and I just went for a high-five. "So who's ready to get out of this joint and get some food?" PJ smirked. "I would give my leg for some food right now," I joked. Everyone chuckled and we followed PJ to his car. Phil sat in the passenger's seat and I sat in the back so my crutches wouldn't bother anyone.

PJ took us out for lunch at some random café before dropping us off at our flat. Of course, he had to help me get up the stairs somehow which was hilarious to have happen. He had to carry me bridal-style up all our stairs and basically tossed me on the couch before saying his goodbyes and leaving. Phil stood in front of me, "I'm going to make hot chocolate. Do you want any?" I nodded, "I could go for some of your homemade hot coco." Phil chuckled before going off to the kitchen. I propped my leg up on one of our couch pillows and couldn't help but feel this incident was my fault. I know it couldn't have been. It wasn't anyone's fault, really. The man had a heart attack, you can't really control that. I sighed, but shot up when I realized I still had that stuffed Pikachu that I never got to give to Phil. I smiled and grabbed my crutches off the ground. Somehow I managed to stand up with the without  breaking something. I made my way to the hiding spot and stood there for a second. How was I going to get it out of the cabinet on the floor?

I used my casted leg to open the cabinet and shove the stuffed Pikachu out of the cabinet before closing it. Nice job, Dan. Now how are you going to get in off the floor?  I sighed and tried to slide down the floor so I was sitting, but I only managed to hit the ground hard. "Dan? Are you okay?" Phil called out. "Yeah, yeah. I'm fine. Just bumped the wall," I lied. I picked up the Pikachu and held the tail in my mouth as I stood up. I limped my way back to the couch and sat down, throwing my crutches on the floor, but out of the way enough so no one would trip. I held the Pikachu in my hands and let out a long breath before handing it under a blanket next to me. Phil came into the lounge, humming, with one mug of hot chocolate in his hand. He handed it do me before going back to get his mug and sat down on my right. I took a sip of it, but yanked it away from my lips, almost spilling it on my lap. "Careful, bear. It's hot," Phil chuckled. I stuck my tongue out at him and sat the mug down.

"Dan? What's that lump beside you?" Phil questioned after we had finished our hot chocolate. "You?" I questioned. Phil chuckled, "No, the blanket, silly. What's under it?" I thought for a moment, but couldn't remember what it was so I lifted up the blanket. Pikachu? When did I put this here?  "Oh it's adorable!" Phil smiled and picked it up. "I uh- It's for you," I smiled. Phil hugged it and leaned over to kiss my cheek. "Did I need to do something? I feel like I needed to do something," I muttered. Phil tilted his head, "What are you talking about?" I looked up at him and didn't even realize I said it out loud, "What?" Phil blinked and looked away, "Nevermind." "Oh! You needed to upload that video of yours," Phil exclaimed out of nowhere, making me jump. "Shoot, I do," I groaned and went to get up. Phil stopped me and stood up himself, "I'll get it. You stay here." I nodded and let Phil bring my laptop over to me. I uploaded the video and tweeted about it to notify everyone.

I started to feel my nose run and groaned. I think I was getting a cold. Sure enough, I started coughing. Phil rubbed my back, "You think you got sick from being in the hospital?" I shrugged, "Probably." Phil pulled me closer to him, "Let's snuggle the sick away." I smiled and leaned onto Phil, pressing my face against his chest. I breathed in his scent. He smelled like vanilla even after not having taken a shower after being in a hospital. Then I remembered we would have to find a way for us to take showers with our casts. "I need a shower," I blurted out. "Well hm. Maybe we could put plastic bags on our arms and rubber band them? Temporarily, though," Phil thought out loud. "Wow, that's actually a good idea," I agreed. Phil smirked, "Let's get you in the bath then, shall we?" I nodded and got myself up with the crutches. Phil turned on the water for me as well as got me a towel and put the bag on my leg. I rested it on the edge of the bathtub as Phil helped me get clean. We did the same for him, bagging up his arm cast before changing into comfortable clothes and snuggling up in bed.
