"Those jeans look so good on you. Like, no jokes, Kim Kardashian wants to be you," Ella giggled, after exclaiming 'damn girl' extremely loudly in the middle of the shop. I shook my head at her in disbelief, but couldn't help but laugh. I picked up some plain, pastel teeshirts whilst in the shop, and a pair of adidas superstars. I also purchased some new sweatpants for chilling in the dorm room.

We sat down in Starbucks and made sure to Instagram our coffee before drinking it. "How basic can we get?" Ella giggled, taking a sip of her cappuccino. "Pretty basic if you ask me. Anyway, tell me about yourself," I said, settling down in my seat. Ella proceeded to tell me that she was from Brighton and had four sisters. She was a jewellery maker by trade and she had the biggest crush ever on a boy called Ethan, who also happened to be her best friend. Oof.

"So anyway, I turned up to his room crying with no makeup on, crying and I'm pretty sure I had Nutella in my hair... Don't ask. Do you think he could still like me?" Ella asked, still on the subject of Ethan. "Oh come on," I scoffed. "You're gorgeous, he'd be insane if he didn't," I told her. I wasn't lying. Ella had waist length brunette hair that fell in soft waves, and glittering blue eyes. Oh, she also happened to have a septum piercing like me.

At about seven, we got the bus back to the campus and went back to our room. "Don't judge me, but I go to sleep at like ten o'clock," Ella giggled. "It's fine, I probably won't stay up much later than that," I replied with a yawn. "Anyway, I'm gonna grab a shower."

The bathroom was really nice, decorated in cream like the room. The room was pretty simple but quite spacious, with two double beds, two sets of draws, wardrobes and dressing tables in the large bay window. There was also a small TV on the wall.

After my shower, I moisturised and put my damp hair in two French plaits so it wouldn't be frizzy tomorrow. I planned on making a bit more of an effort with my appearance, since it was a new start here. I put on some pyjamas and climbed into bed, checking my phone and texting my parents goodnight. "I can't wait for you to meet Ethan and Harry. You're gonna love them," Ella said happily as she got into bed. "Those are your friends right?" I checked. "Yeah. Hopefully Ethan is soon to be something more," she said somewhat dreamily.

In the morning, I climbed out of bed after pressing snooze once. I shook my hair out of its plaits and smiled as it cascaded down past my my shoulders towards my waist in soft blonde ripples. "You have hair like a mermaid!" Ella said, running a hand through it in awe. She was the best friend I'd always dreamt of, but never had.

I pulled on a baby blue teeshirt, some ripped skinny jeans and my new trainers I purchased yesterday. I quickly brushed my teeth and sprayed perfume, ready to go. "You ready Sav?" She called. "Coming!" I shouted, picking up my bag and hurrying out.

We made our way to English after grabbing breakfast in the canteen. Ella walked in and took her seat next to a good looking boy who was wearing a SnapBack and a sweater, who she seemed to get along with. I stood at the front, not entirely sure what to do. I tugged on the hem of my teeshirt, trying not to listen to the whispering and giggles rippling through the class. "Go and sit at the back," the teacher barked in a harsh voice. "Next to him," she added, pointing to a boy with messy hair and a cute smile.

"Yeah, she's a bitch," he whispered, making me me laugh. "Never would have guessed," I replied. "You two! Stop giggling and listen!" The teacher shouted at me and the boy next to me. Everyone turned around and looked at us, and we both turned red. "I'm Harry," he said quietly. "Savannah," I replied. "That's a pretty name... It suits you, you know?" He smiled, and I blushed.

Then, three boys bust into the classroom, shoving eachother around and laughing. "Boys!" The teacher screamed, prompting more laughter from them. I couldn't really see their faces because they had their hoods up, but the one leading was tall, lean and muscular... Was he the one from yesterday? The other one had a beard from what I could see, and the last one was a bit shorter than them both but more thick set.

I caught a glimpse of the tall one for a split second as he came past me, taking a seat behind me. He had piercing eyes, the colour of the ocean in the moonlight. His hair was blonde and poked out from under his hood, and he wore a frown. I couldn't help but stare as he went past, it only took a matter of seconds for me to be mesmerised by him.

The lesson dragged on, and we all recieved a new English book and a copy of Romeo and Juliet, which we were going to study. The teacher, Mrs Gray, certainly had a personality to match her name. She was boring, and very harsh. She seemed to have students that she enjoyed ridiculing, and I seemed to be one of them.

"What do you think of the use of language in the scene? What does it signify?" Mrs Gray asked me. I gulped and shrugged, my mind had gone blank and had seemingly turned to mush. "Gosh, you're useless, Savannah. Simon, would you care to help her out?" She said, in mock kindness.

"No."
