Owen...I must admit, your dedication is admirable. I wonder when you'll finally break...
...
I expected that after my emotional outburst, me and Claudia would become closer. Sadly, that wasn't the case. We haven't spoken a word to each other in two days.
When that happens I'm usually thrilled, but now all I could think about what was going on inside her head.
She didn't act any different than usual, not even after this life changing event.
A hug was something that the two of us never shared and she didn't seem to notice at all.
But at the same time, she didn't seem sad. She was usually upbeat talking to her and friends and such, which was what she was doing now. Thomas was never mentioned since that hug, it was like he never even existed.
I wonder how she would react when I told her that a ghost created a world for him where he could torture multiple copies of him and that one of her copies ended up killing him, and I risked my life to save her.
But obviously she wouldn't believe me if I said anything, so there would be no point.
Still...she was taking Thomas's sudden disappearance very well. I'm sure she'd be happy to be free from his shackles, but she was acting like nothing even happened.
Maybe he was still alive and he was still manipulating her...but I'd probably be dead by now if that was the case. How could he have survived that?
Then again, I didn't understand the logic in Alyssa's twisted worlds. They were obviously very different from ours based on what I've seen so far, but it resembled places from the real world.
Obviously I was still in danger and Alyssa wasn't done with me yet. I've been feeling more confident recently after this, almost like I could accomplish anything.
If I could survive a battle against Thomas, then surely I could gather the courage to try and bond with my sister. I did work hard to save her from that asshole so I had to make sure that all of that was worth it.
Once she finally put her phone down I could speak to her. If she was willing to listen anyway.
I approached her slowly until I standing in front of her. For some reason the words didn't leave my lips...dammit, I should have planned what to say beforehand. I was definitely not used to discussing feelings like this. I only ever did that with one other person.
"Yes? You're in my way."
I groaned, this was already getting nowhere...
"Look, I want to talk with you..."
"About what?"
I couldn't help but frown at this girl's rudeness.
"Maybe if you didn't interrupt me, I could tell you."
"Can you hurry up? I have stuff to do."
Her impatience was really getting on my nerves, if only she could realise how difficult this was for me to do.
"Well...it's just...what did you do two days ago?"
"Why would that be any of your business?"
"This is going to sound weird, but...do you remember anyone...taking you somewhere? Like...against your will?"
"Umm...no? Are you done asking stupid questions?"
My groan soon became a quiet growl. I was trying to help her and she didn't even recognise that.
