Battle Of The Weeping Angels

Chapter 6

'Righty ho! This is our last day, and chance, that we are going to find Dan!' The Doctor announced.
'But Doctor you said 3-4 days! Please please please can we have 4??'
'Errrr... No, sorry.' Phil looked at the Doctor horrified, at first, but it grew into anger and frustration.
'Fine! You go look for Clara but I am taking the car!' Phil shouted, anger boiling up inside of him
'Wait, what?'
'You go and look for Clara but I am going to go and look for Dan.'
'But Phil, it's too dangerous! You at least need another person to look out for angels for you, if not more!'
'Dan is like a brother to me. I would rather die trying than not try at all.' The Doctor saw the determination in his eyes and knew that it would be pointless to argue.
'Ok. Just please be safe, Phil. If you die I will never forgive myself.' The Doctor pulled Phil into a man hug.
'Er... Thanks Doctor. I will do my best to stay alive. I hope you succeed and find Clara.' Phil smiled warmly then hopped into the car and drove off, leaving the Doctor thinking what on earth he had got Dan and Phil into.

The moment Phil turned the ignition it suddenly dawned on him that he didn't know how to drive and knew he couldn't multitask. There was no way he going to he able to try to learn to drive whilst looking out for angels and if there was one, he knew he wouldn't be able to concentrate on the angel and where he was going whilst trying not to blink. He hit the brake and started to think how on earth he would be able to rise to this challenge and the mess he got himself into.

SMASH! CLANG! BANG! That was the sound of Kirito and Asuna trying to teach Dan how to sword fight. It wasn't working.
'No! Sweep the sword! Sweep!' Coached Asuna. Dan tried one last pathetic swing with the sword and collapsed in a tired heap. Asuna sighed angrily.
'We are never going to be able to move on at this rate!'
'Look all I need is for you to help me find my friend -this weirdo called Phil- and the Doctor.' Dan explained.
'So you're telling me that I just wasted all my blood, sweat, tears and effort to train you, when all along you just needed to find your friends?'
'The Doctor is not my friend,' Dan said through gritted teeth, 'but yes, basically.' Asuna tried to maintain her anger. She hated it when her effort was wasted.
'Where are they?'
'I don't know! If I knew then I would have found them by now.' Asuna scowled. She did not like Dan's attitude.
'Could you perhaps hazard a guess at where they are and what they're doing??' Kirito added as he was afraid that his girlfriend was going to kill Dan if he didn't change the subject.
'Well they're either looking for me or looking for some girl named Clara.'
'The nest centre?' Kirito asked Asuna.
'Yes. Dan we will protect you as best we can from the angels but could you stare at th-' Asuna stopped with a look of horror on her face. Dan, however, was oblivious to this as he was trying to get that strange grey substance out of his eye.
'Stop!' Shouted Asuna. Dan looked up in confusion because he could not think why he was being interrupted from his eye-rubbing.
'Close your eyes, Dan.'
'Why?'
'Just do it! The sooner the better!' Dan reluctantly closed his eyes.
'Why am I doing this again?' Asked Dan.
'Because if we'd've left that any later, you would've turned into a weeping angel.' Asuna replied.
'What?!'
'Have you blinked at an angel, especially in its eye?'
'I don't think so... Wait! Yes, I have.' Dan said, ashamed. The scowl on Asuna's face grew ever deeper.
'Idiot! Why are even here if you knew you were going to blink!'
'It's not my fault! I was forced to come here by "the Doctor"! Then I fell out of the TARDIS (his spaceship teleporter thing) and have been stranded here for 2 days!'
'He is with the Doctor. Well that explains a lot,' Asuna whispered to Kirito. But Dan was not finished.
'And this is my first alien adventure so I have no idea what's going on and how to stop a bunch of paralysing statues!'
'Keep your eyes closed!'
'Sorry.'
'OK calm down. We will teach everything there is to know about the angels on our way to the nest centre.' Dan nodded his head and led away to the centre of the nest of weeping angels.
