'' What do you mean intentionally?'' Stevie ask, her eyes full of worry and the ever-present atmosphere of concern around her and Lindsey. 

Doctor Pritchett sighs, she's young, probably near her late twenties '' Your daughter, was in an absuive relationship..'' Lindsey and Stevie's hearts sink as they listen intetnly to Sari's doctor. Doctor Pritchett continues '' A couple of years ago I treated her, because she was dating a guy, he had a tendency to go into fits of rage just by being bothered by the littlest things, mostly someone of the opposite sex telling him no. He got drunk, and in a fit of rage her punched in the center of her face. The blow was so brutal she had to get plastic surgery done on her nose and cheek implants because he nearly fractured her cheek bones. The second and last time which was a year ago, he found out she was dating her current partner and was pregnant, she told him to get lost and then he bashed in the abdomen and the vaginal area multiple times.'' Doctor Pritchett continues'' due to that she miscarried a week later. But other than that all her other injuries are healed no more damage, except she may get cheek injections every now and then. She's so against plastic surgery, unless it's medical, she's almost ashamed of it so she asked if her doctors could make try and keep her features as identical to her original features before the incident.'' Stevie and Lindsey cannot bear to hear about the abuse and the near-sexual assault of Sari. 

'' Due to that last miscarriage, it coincides with her condition now.'' Lindsey interrupts '' is she alright, and her baby boy are they all right'' Stevie looks at him her eyes watering '' what?'' things happened so quickly in the last few hours Lindsey forgot to tell Stevie why they're even here in the first place. Lindsey's mind is so wrapped up around the state of Sari and her baby that he signals for Doctor Pritchett to explain '' Sari was twenty one weeks pregnant'' Stevie gasp in horror and she looks back at Lindsey then back to Doctor Pritchett. '' How come she didn't say anything'' she asks, Stevie then realizes something '' wait she didn't even have a baby bump, at the beach she was wearing a bikini and her stomach was as flat as an ironing board, she had a small pudge but it looked like a natural little tummy'' Stevie says. Doctor Pritchett looks at her clipboard and then answers their questions, '' Her last pregnancy, not all of the pregnancy tissue had left her womb. And her symptoms she told us had disappeared with her current pregnancy no nausea, fatigue, breast tenderness.'' 

The condition that Sari is in, even scares Doctor Pritchett a little seeing as Sari is only a few years younger than her. '' She's suffered what is known as an Incomplete abortion, also known as an incomplete miscarriage'' Stevie looks at Lindsey and just wraps her arms around him, he holds her close to him '' This means that some of the pregnancy tissue has not entirely left her system, and the cervix stays open, it has to be closed to carry the baby to grow to full term. Because her cervix is open this caused her to contract, causing vaginal cramps and the bleeding.'' Lindsey strokes Stevie as she cries into his chest '' So we're going to perform a D&C dilation and curettage it's a procedure that removes any fetal tissue and...unfortunately we have to remove the fetus, but the fetus was also failing during her miscarriage. It's a bit rare for a woman in her stage of pregnancy to have an incomplete miscarriage. Also her bleeding was quite heavy, so she may need a blood transfusion, we've talked to her about it and she's not taking it because her insurance can't cover both the operation and the blood transfusion.'' Lindsey intercepts '' we'll cover it,'' Doctor Pritchett stops in her tracks '' excuse me?'' Lindsey looks to Stevie who agrees with him one hundred per cent '' We'll pay for whatever she needs, whatever's necessary to help her.'' Doctor Pritchett talks with them and they discuss the procedures and the consent, after that's done, she tells them that they can see Sari before she goes in for surgery. 

They open the door, to see Sari lying in her hospital bed, she's been changed into a hospital gown and she's resting. Lindsey lets Stevie go up to her, Stevie looks down at Sari, she's not as pale as she was before, but she still looks sick. Stevie caresses her forehead, Sari moans slightly she squints her eyes open '' What's happening to me?'' she croaks, Stevie hushes her '' You're going to be fine, they just need to perform the surgery and give you your blood transfusion.'' Sari sighs heavily '' I can't afford both'' Lindsey pipes in and steps closer '' we got it covered angel''. She opens her eyes fully and sees both of them leaning slightly over her '' you don't have to do this'' Stevie folds her arms and stands up straight '' why not?'' she ask, Sari tries to sit herself up '' ah'' she groans as she still feels the cramping sensation '' stay down sweetie'' Lindsey helps her lie back down. '' Why shouldn't we? we're your parents, we can afford it, it's the perk of our careers we not only can afford luxurious things, but we can afford the facilities and the remedies necessary to save lives.'' Stevie replies. She steps closer to look at Sari, she puts her hand on hers '' I'm not going to lose you again'' she says sternly, '' Twenty four years, of hidden guilt and pain I've gone through because I made a dumbass decision to give up the most valuable possession of my life up, because I was selfish and I wasn't ready to flip off my ignorance and my arrogance and I was afraid of what would happen if I kept you.'' She continues in a softer voice '' but the truth is I should of been afraid of what would happen had I not kept you'', the door opens and Doctor Pritchett comes in '' we're going to perform the surgery now'' Stevie leans down and gives Sari a kiss on the forehead '' my sweet girl'' Sari gives her a small smile, Lindsey leans down and whispers in Sari's ear '' you're a miracle, you know that'' and he kisses her on the cheekbone.
