Secret Love

And the days go by...

A couple of days later, and Stevie still can't seem to find herself to tell Sari about her current schedule. Karen's getting pushy '' Man Stevie what's your problem just tell her. She's twenty four years old and you said so yourself she's been through some hard crap, she can cope with things'' Stevie raises her eyebrow at Karen shocked that she'd use her words and worry against her. '' Wait forget I even said that I'm sorry, look Stevie it's not a big deal just tell her'' Stevie's stubborn streak and worry had got to her in the past couple of days, Lindsey told her on the phone the other day 'Suck it up, she's not a baby, she's a big girl, just tell her'. Easier said than done right? They were talking about their daughter they just found over a month ago and now Stevie was going to have to leave her for a few months. She exhales and releases some of the tension building up inside of her, '' All right I'll tell her now, in fact It's a good thing because her brothers are here...Oh my gosh her brothers, I completely forgot about them.''  Karen shakes her head '' no, now, you're going to tell her.''. Stevie flips Karen the finger, but in the sweetest of manners, she ties her long mane of hair into a low pony tail as she makes her way over to Sari's room.  

As she walks in she hears Sari complaining to her brothers, '' Oh man I can't wait to get back to the gym, I've lost my arms and legs, I'm just...bones'' she pouts in a sad puppy manner to her brothers. They chuckle '' Don't worry Samurai, one more week and then you'll be back in shape in no time'' Warren answers. They all look up and see Stevie, she smiles at Sari. She's making progress, and she's looking healthier, it took a couple of nights to convince Sari to start eating again, and Stevie's just so thankful that Sari is taking on board everything that Doctor Pritchett has prescribed and instructed her to do and not do. '' I know I shouldn't say this but Sari-darling a lot of girls starve themselves to be as fit and skinny as you are. I mean I'm jealous of your body'' Stevie says, Sari puts her head down and chuckles '' But that's the thing, I just take care of myself, and shape my body. Not starve it, or stretch it's thin-ness to the limit, see  I know that I'm very tall and lanky, 6ft now 118 pounds, blah, blah, blah...but I've always looked up to the fitness models, they're all about instilling a life not full of starvation and depravation of what foods you love. But a balance in all things, life, fun, food, and well I found refuge in weight lifting. Plus I know that I look much better and healthier with muscle and meat on my bones'' Sari instills her health philosophy. It's true, a lot of people tell her to be a Victoria's secret model, but she knows that they'd force her to lose another ten pounds, and she's just not that kind of girl to be forced or to force others.  

'' But with that being said I could not live without Pizza'' the boys agree with her '' Amen, Preach it sister'' Greyson says in a funny accent. They all eat a lot, despite their efforts to be fit and healthy, they cannot live with out some junk food, '' This girl, well when she's not sick. She can eat the whole of Australia and not gain any weight, I know girls who complain about eating a cookie crumb and they gain five pounds.'' David adds. He hated girls worrying about their weight, he just likes a girl whose confident. Stevie smiles at the foursome's closeness, she's sure going to miss this sight.  '' Sari-Darling I have to talk to you and your brothers about something that I completely forgot to talk about''. Sari straightens herself up and the boys sit up straight from their lying-down positions. She sits down on the edge of the bed '' I have a summer tour coming up, and I pushed the dates back because I found you. Now the Today show is not letting me cancel, and neither is my management, so I leave in a week or so. And I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner...Unless you would like to come.'' 

Stevie shocked at the lightbulb that flickered off in her brain and her casually adding in '' Unless you would like to come'', Sari smiles '' That's great Stevie---I mean mom, I uh, oh, I'm sorry I keep calling you by your first name'' Sari apologizes for her stutter. '' Mommy sounds much lovelier than Stevie'' Stevie says. Sari corrects herself '' that's awesome, look don't let me weigh you down, I mean you haven't for the past twenty or so years.'' Sari had a tendency to be blunt like Lindsey and tell Stevie like it is, without even realizing it. '' And I would love to come on tour with you, It would mean the world to me'' suddenly Sari's smile disappears and she bites her lip and winces '' but...I have to be here for my brothers, and rehearsals with chris brown start up in a month. I can't just leave them. They need me.''. Sari wasn't ready to leave her brothers, especially David and Greyson seeing as they're still in school and Warren has just started college at UCLA, studying teaching. Stevie nods her head she gives her a smile, she is disappointed though that Sari turned down her offer, but she understood why. '' Look Sari just go, for once think about yourself'' Greyson pipes in, 'Warren then tries to ease the situation by suggesting something that Sari would never wish for '' Yeah I got a job at the bar, I can take care of everything food, the car, shopping'', ''NO!'' Sari exclaims. 

The boys nearly jump at her sudden outburst, '' look I'm sorry for that, but Warren I swore on dad's grave I would never leave you boys to fend for yourselves'' Sari says it sternly, '' Oh come on Samurai, I'm eighteen, I have a job, and I'm gonna be the man of the house some day, let me practice.'' Warren argues back. '' No! Warren I will not have you do that. You're earnings is not enough to keep everything in tact. You are eighteen you should be enjoying college and having fun because I certainly wasn't when I was your age.'' she fires back. Sari calms down and softens her voice '' now don't make me decide that you can miss out on that opportunity too. Because I promised your dad that I would never let that happen to you, missing out on living.''. The boys stay quiet, Sari looks to Stevie '' look mom, I, I would love to go on tour with you. You have no idea, it would be the best time in the world.'' Stevie takes Sari's hand and looks deep into her eyes. '' But my brothers need me, and I'm the only one who can help them right now...maybe a little later eh?'' she ask. Stevie gives her a daughter a hopeful smile, she leans her forehead down to her level and kisses her '' I will always have that offer on the table for you'' she says. 

It comes time for Stevie to go on tour and do all the interviews. Sari heals and makes an outstanding recovery, she goes back into rehearsals with Chris brown and manages to regain her healthy form back. Lindsey hasn't kept his promise to Kristen that she'd have Sari over to come meet them and the kids...and He's deadset on it now, that Sari is mobile and active again....
