XXII

 I entered our condo unit to be surprised by the set up of it. The couch in the living room was pushed to the very back then there were mattresses laid out on the floor, in front of the TV. There were also pillows and blankets on top of it, a pile of DVD movies and lots of food. By lots of food I meant, 3 bowls of popcorns, different sorts of candies, different kinds of flavored chips, bottles of juices, sodas, and any other junk food that you can possibly think of.

“Surprise!” Ashley said, coming out of the kitchen carrying another bowl of popcorn. Well, that's 4 bowls of popcorn already. Then I noticed that two bowls were cheese flavor and the other 2 were butter flavor. “Happy Birthday, bestie!”

“Awww! You did all this?” I smiled at her. “Thank you so much! You're the best bestfriend ever!”

“Oh I know.” She giggled and then went to settle down on one of the mattress after placing the bowl down in front of her. “Now go change into your favorite pajamas and let's start having fun!”

And so that's what I did. I rushed to my room and stripped off of my day clothes and changed into my favorite pajamas which was the Minnie Mouse pajamas that I had before. The ones that were matching with Connor's Mickey Mouse pajamas. I removed my hair from it's bun and just let it fall down my back then I went out the living room again to see Ashley popping a DVD into the player.

“So what are we watching?” I asked as I found a comfortable position on the mattress.

“A Cinderella Story: One Upon A Song.” She said as she laid down next to me, grabbing a bowl of popcorn in the process.

“Was this the one with Hillary Duff, Selena Gomez or Lucy Hale?”

“Lucy Hale.”

“Oh alright.” And with that, we tried concentrating on the movie with a few comments here and there. We would tell each other how Freddie Stroma's so hot when he sang, and how Lucy Hale looked gorgeous in whatever she was wearing. You know, that movie actually reminded me of Connor. I just wished that we would have our happy ending too, one day but right now, things are complicated between us.

“So where have you been the whole day?” Ashley asked as the credits started to roll.

“Out with the boys.” I said then she looked at me as if telling me to go on. It's so nice to have this time with Ashley. It's been forever since the last time that we had the chance to do this. “Connor picked me up here then we went to pick up the other hooligans at their house then we spent our day at Disney but just like in every story, there was a witch. Megan was there in Disney and she decided to invite herself to join us. Riley and I had to pretend that we were together again, and Connor kept on giving me apologetic looks when Megan would make rude comments but then he'd be jealous when Riley would be so affectionate to me.”

“Wow. Well at least you can say that your birthday's memorable.” She laughed at me then she became serious. “Just one question though. What are you and Connor?”

By this time, the next movie was playing but we didn't really pay attention to it. It was Abduction. Oh yeah, Taylor Lautner looks so hot in that movie and Lily Collins is my girl crush for life. Ashley and I have watched this for a few times already and we didn't mind missing the first few parts.
