Milo POV

I sighed in relief when I finally managed to get into work, trying to get through the traffic this afternoon was murder, why does it seem that when you need to be somewhere, the traffic seems to never want to go your way, apparently Leon the other bartender couldn't open up today since he went out last night and decided to go home with someone {lucky bastard} I thought bitterly, but then I felt stupid for thinking that, why shouldn't he go out just because he actually can get someone doesn't mean he has to stay at home like me, don't get me wrong I can meet someone to get laid but sometimes it's too much trouble, after parking my car I got out and started towards the bar, I checked the front to see if it would need cleaning or anything -another thing on my to-do list as manager- and when I see nothing, I unlock the door and walk in, the bar itself may look small from the outside but once you're inside, it's a totally different thing, as soon as you walk in you see the bar with seven bar stools lining the front, the far end of the bar -furthest away from the main door- were two doors, one leading into the staff room/office and the other leads towards the kitchen, the left side of the door is the seating areas, the main floor of the bar was covered with booths on either side and then normal table and chairs in the centre, past them and up three steps was another section, similar to main floor but a bit smaller

The owner bought the store next door and made it into more seating space, as the bar has been getting busier lately with the addition of food being added to the menu, the bar is open from three in the after until one in the morning, the staff is eight people in total, three of them are kitchen staff, whilst the rest are bartenders -myself included- it's only the last year or so that most of the bartending staff are needed most of the time, as the bar down the street closed up due to financial difficulty, to be honest I have a fear that the owner now will most likely sell before the year is out, he use to come every two days, then it turned into every week, then every month and now we are lucky to see him at all {and when he does decide to sell I will make an offer for the place, I have the money with my other hobby and I don't want this place to get run down, most of the staff are either collage students needing an extra job to pay bills or are single parents} I thought slowly, non of the current staff know about my idea of buying, only because I don't want the owner to short change them out of a job, just to save money, luckily the retail agent is a friend of mine and he said once news of a sale, he would place an offer to him under my alias name Brody Patterson

Even though I do run the bar the majority of the time, he wouldn't suspect me of buying it and that is what I want, if he thinks I could afford to bar the bar, then he would just sell it to someone else and expect me quit, it's been hard to keep the staff still working here as his attitude is fucked up, he also gets handsy with the young collage girls we have working here but luckily they are never left alone with him for long, as I always come up with an excuse to get them back to work

I shook my head away from those thoughts and decided to sort some paperwork out like checking the stock and cleaning some glasses that the staff from last night forgot to do, Leon and I are normally the only ones who open and close the bar, so we sometimes change days to suit whatever we each had on the night before, we are the only ones who the boss trusts to actually do the job right, and I don't actually mind since we get extra pay for doing it so I can't complain about it -much- the only thing we really complain about now is the owner, from the very first day he took over I noticed he had no clue how to run the bar or any bar for that matter, all the bartending staff are the same ones who worked here for the previous owner and he was a well liked man, always here, either doing work in the office or sitting at tables with the regulars for a chat and drink, he never expected us to be superman or superwoman, he knew we will make mistakes but he also expected us to fix them, our owner now is nothing like him and we sorely miss our old boss, again I shook my head and carried on with what I was doing, Leon came in just before I was opening and within minutes was ready to work
