Erik
I left box 5 with a strange feeling of delight and anger. I felt happiness because I had gotten to speak with Christine once more. But at the same time, rage swirled through me. That fop Raoul didn't treat Christine as she deserved to be treated. It's all your fault.
I groaned, and leaned against Christine's mirror. I heard her come in, and I saw as she broke down in front of the mirror.
Her pain hurt me more than the circus. Her tears were worse than the blood from my cuts. Her moans were more heartbreaking than the insults.
I put a hand against the mirror to reach out to her, and at the same time, she put her hand against the mirror. It took all my self-control not to throw open the mirror, and kiss her.
She began to sing an old lullaby, and I felt myself falling under her spell again.
You have to resist, Erik! You can't just ruin her life just because you want something!
I nodded, I was right. Christine would be alright, and I would make sure of it. I just needed her to sing my opera!
Hmm, Christine is right in thinking that New years is a great time to announce something.
And now, I have a plan!
Elodie
Nadir and I had been talking all week about our master plan. I'm pretty sure that he now knows everything about me, and I everything about him.
"Nadir, I think that our plan is one hundred percent foolproof. When do you think that we should force- I mean, tell Erik?"
He shrugged,
"I don't know, Elles, maybe tonight?"
"Nah, they're having a production of Il Muto, and Erik refuses to miss Christine's performance. "
He nodded, "Right," he turned to me, "Do you think that you could skip out, and we could ambush him in box five? "
I shook my head, "The fop is occupying Erik's seat, but I'd love to skip out on the play anyway! We can go Erik hunting!"
He grinned, "Sounds perfect. And maybe I can scope out Meg for you!"
I groaned, Nadir had this dumb idea that Meg and I would be the ultimate couple.
"If you try that, I'll have your head!"
He smirked,
"Watch me."
We walked back to the Opera House, from his apartment. When we made it to my room, I stopped Nadir.
"Okay, there's a performance going on, so I'm going to have to get dressed in my fancy shit. Your already dresses as a penguin, so you're fine. Are you alright with waiting? "
He nodded, "As long as the lovely Elodie hurries, because Erik should be lurking around soon."
I rolled my eyes, and went into my room. Hmm, I didn't really have many new dresses. Ah ha! That overpriced dress that Meg forced me to buy!
I struggled into my corset, and shoved on my dress. I stared at my reflection. Damn. It still looks good! I slapped on some make up, and threw open the door.
"You ready, Nadir?"
He looked at me, and nearly choked.
"You don't look like a mess! "
"Ouch."
He shrugged,
"Don't worry you look like a um...princess?"
