Christine

"Phillipe?"

I looked at him, wearing a horrified expression. What was my fiancée's brother doing here?

He cleared his throat, "Hello, Christine. I came to tell you that my brother is missing. And," he said, nodding towards Erik, "Is responsible. " Erik stepped forward, but before anything could happen, Elodie stepped in between them.

"Wait!"

They stared at her, and she withered a little underneath their glares. "Um, it wasn't Erik. It was me."

Everyone began to speak at once. Nadir didn't seem quite so fazed, but Erik, Phillipe and I were all confused.

"What do you mean? Why?" I questioned her, my confusion growing my the minute. She blushed slightly, and looked down at her shoes.

"Well, we needed to get in, so I used some of my, erm, connections, and had most of the staff look the other way as my favorite pirate kidnapped the Vicomte!" She looked up at us with a proud smile, which disappeared quite quickly after she received our glares. Nadir subtly gave her an approving nod, before shrinking back behind her. She blushed a deep maroon, and continued. "I didn't think that he was going to kidnap him, Papa merely figured that the best was to get past him, was to kidnap him," She looked at us I with an expression that said, 'how silly, right?'.

"Personally, I would have knocked him out."

When she received the annoyed glances, she shrank down.Phillipe looked absolutely horrified as he screamed at her "WHAT THE HELL IS THE MATTER WITH YOU PEOPLE?! MY FAMILY WILL HAVE YOU ALL IMPRISONED! YOU, YOU-" Erik covered Phillipe's mouth, and interrupted. "Where is he, Elodie?"

She gave him an annoyed look, "I can't tell you," she held up a finger to keep us from interrupting, "But, I can get him back. Only if you want." She finished her sentence by looking at me.

"Of course! Go get him, but please, do not hurt anyone else!"

She gave me a swift nod, and pulled Nadir out the door with her. Phillipe gave us one last glare, before storming out the door. I let out a relieved sigh, which quickly turned to surprise as Eric picked me up.

I let out a small scream, and slapped his arm. "Put me down!" He smirked, and kissed me, but didn't put me down.

"I don't think so!"

"Why not!"

He drew me in close, his lips inches away from my neck.

"Because angels don't walk."

I giggled, and moved my lips close to his.

"Then why are you walking, mon ange?"

He smiled, and kissed me passionately. He rubbed my neck, relieving many knots, and earned a sigh from my lips.

"That, my angel, is a question that will never be answered. "

Elodie

As I entered the tall gates, I felt a chill run through me as memories flooded back. Me, playing with Papa. Mother chasing me around.

The last time I was here, I must've been about ten. Then, we left to the ship, and all he'll broke loose.

But, that was over now. I dragged Nadir up the steps, and through the tall gates. The grand sculptures of Apollo, and Aphrodite greeted us by the vast grey garden, who's flowers were taking a break through the winter. I guided Nadir to the polished double doors, and knocked eight times on the door. The door cracked open, to reveal the withered face of Gerard, the butler.
