he misses you

i went outside on the porch and sat right next to riley on the swing.

i could tell she was crying.

"listen honey, you need to take your medication. i know you don't want to but it would be beneficial for everyone. i talked to your mom today, and everyone truly does miss you at home and she wants you to come home. but like lena and i said you are more than welcome to stay here as long as you please, until you feel you're ready to go home."

she looked at me and did a fake smiled.

i smiled back.

"i don't think ill ever go back. not after what my brother did to me." she wiped away a tear.

"he was the one who got physical with you, correct?"

"yeah but that's not it. he's not a good person, let alone a good brother."

"well im sorry to hear that love, im sure he misses you!"

"wish that was true. but fine ill guess ill start taking my medication again. and im sorry for acting out, again."

"honey, it's totally okay -

i gave her a hug.

just go ask lena for the meds, and hey why don't you go ask callie if she wants to hangout! or maybe even jude, i bet you all could find a game or something!" i said.

riley just looked at me and walked into the house.
