CHAPTER 27 - LATE, LAST NIGHT

************************************************************************************************************

Dylan woke when he heard a maid shouting outside the window. He was about to sit up but then realized, Avery was asleep on him. She had her head on his chest and her arms were around him. He smiled at her and then lay back down as she stirred in her sleep next to him. He closed his eyes and recalled everything that happened last night. They had made love at least 3 times until eventually Avery had drifted off. Looking around the room, Dylan noticed that their clothes were everywhere. Avery stirred next to him again and this time she lifted her head and her eyes slowly flickered open. He smiled and she did the same.

"Good morning," Dylan whispered to her as he kissed her forehead. She closed her eyes and smiled.

"Good morning to you too," Avery whispered back. Dylan laughed and Avery lay her head back on the pillow. She pulled the covers up to cover herself and Dylan just watched her. She stared at the ceiling before turning her gaze to him. Avery blushed and covered her face with the sheets. Dylan laughed and got out of bed. He got dressed but then realized Avery had not moved. He walked over to the bed and pulled the sheets from her suddenly, The bed sheet went flying towards Dylan and Avery squealed. She pulled it back, half exposed until eventually Dylan stopped fighting with her and let it go. She fell back with the sheet landed everywhere but covering her. Dylan laughed with her as he put on his tunic. Avery grabbed her undergarments and put on her dressing gown. She walked over to Dylan and placed her arms around his waist, leaning on his back.

"Do you have to go?" Avery mumbled and Dylan turned around so he was facing her.

"Yes, Avery I do. I'll be back though. And besides, you have to go too," Dylan remarked as he raised his eyebrows at her. He placed his hands on her face and kissed her quickly. Avery smiled as he broke away. She pushed him off her and he walked to the door.

Slowly unlocking it, he popped his head out to make sure no-one was watching or walking this way. The coast was clear so he turned to face Avery one more time before he walked out.

"I'll meet you in the dining room," Dylan said as he backed out of Avery's room. She nodded at him and when he had gone into his own room, Avery closed her door and leaned against it. She let out a sigh of joy and smiled as all of last night's memories came rolling back.

Checking herself in the mirror one more time and satisfied with what she saw, Avery headed down for breakfast. She arrived in the dining room and noticed that Clarissa, Marigold and Olivia were already seated. Avery smiled at them and took a seat next to her friend.

"How you feeling?" Olivia whispered and Avery turned her head to her.

"Good. I just wasn't really up for celebrating. I still felt bad and guilty. I'm sorry I didn't return, but did you have fun?" Avery replied and Olivia nodded smiling, stiffly.

"Yes...it was...fun. Different...but fun..." Olivia stuttered. She turned her head away, looking down at the plate of fruit before her and Avery just frowned at her, before shaking it off. Avery turned to her own fruit and started to eat it before she heard echoing voices and looked up to see Dylan and Troy walk in. Avery smiled at him and he smiled back, still talking to Troy.

"Hurry up you two! We've already started!" Clarissa laughed and Dylan and Troy paced quickly to their seats.

"Where's Raphael, Erhard and Selenita?" Marigold asked Clarissa and Olivia choked on her wine.
