Elsa was standing on the corner and watched people from and out of her school danced on the dancefloor. The music was mellow and it was so soft that it made some couples kiss and hug each other like their life depended on it. The lights were getting dimmer and Elsa sighed as she moved across the couples to get a punch from the buffet table.

She was about to get one when someone lightly taps her shoulder and she turned to face the ginger haired guy which she recalled was named Peter.

"Yes?" She asked with a polite smile.

"Would you, uh, like to dance?" Peter asks with a shy smile on his lips and even though the lights were dim, she could make out the slight color on his cheeks.

"I'm sorry but I don't dance," she politely declined. Then, she spotted her younger sister from across the room who was talking to her date, Hans. "But my sister does!" She added immediately so that Peter wouldn't feel dejected and she could keep Hans hands away from her sister.

"But I want to dance with you." Peter protested which made Elsa want to blow her bangs in irritation but she stops herself.

"I don't know how. Plus, I'm not much of a good company anyway," Elsa smiled politely again. "I'm sorry."

Peter smiles cheekily despite the fact that he'd been rejected. "Okay." He shrugs and went next to another girl who was Anna.

Elsa sighs a breath of relief that made her slouch. When another guy taps her shoulder, she stands up straight and wheels around to face a familiar silver haired guy. She smiled in relief to him.

"Jack!" She exclaims in joy. She eyes his white tux and asked, "I thought you said that you weren't coming?"

Jack smirks at her and his cyan blue eyes glisten to life after a white light passed by. "And let you just stand around and watch the dancefloor?" He says mischievously. "I don't think so."

He takes her hand and pulls her closer to him which made Elsa nervous. Only Jack can do that to her even though she doesn't know why. They're best friends but she feels as if she wants more than that.

"What are you doing?" She whispers and giggles as quiet as possible. "You know that I don't know how to dance."

"Come on," he slips his hand on her arm until he takes hold of her hand. He clasps it tightly and pulled her closer to his body before whispering on her ear, "Drop the good girl act for once in awhile. You're with me and when you're with me, you know you'll be able to be just you."

Elsa softly smiles at what he said. When he pulls away to meet her eyes, she gives him her Cheshire like grin as she puts her free hand on his left shoulder. When she felt his other hand on her waist, she said as she stares at his pale face, "Then let's dance."

Jack pulls her gracefully to the dancefloor and they swayed their body to the soft beat of the music. Their eyes never left each other and as Elsa slides her hand to his left chest, she felt Jack's swift heartbeats in rhythm with hers.

She slowly looks up to his pale face and smiles affectionately that Jack couldn't help but to pull her even more closer than possible until they were now hugging each other.

"Can you feel that?" He asks on her ear. "Can you feel my heart? If it's possible to pull my heart out, I might've done that before and give it to you."

Elsa led out a shaky deep breath at the way Jack's cool breath tickles her ear. She hides her face in his chest and listened to the beat of his heart.

Lubb.Dubb.Lubb.Dubb

The soft beats cradled her to comfort as if it was a lullaby that will pull everyone to sleep. She can't help but notice again how his heartbeats were in sync with her own, how it matched perfectly as if they were beating as one.

Elsa couldn't know if it was even possible to even feel that way. Jack is her childhood friend. He was the one who put fresh gum in her hair and then apologized about it later. He was the one who went ballistic when someone pushed her on the stairs and she fell and broke her arm in the process.

But somehow everything was beyond perfect. It was surreal and she felt like she was floating so high in a cloud of pink cotton candies. Was that even possible?

"Is this the part where you're about to confess your love for me?" She teased him though deep in her heart, she knows that it was what she desires the most. She hoped that he will tell her that he loves her. Not just in a friendly way and definitely not in a sisterly way.

"No," he pulls away and looks directly in her eyes. "No," he repeated softly. "This is the part where I come and say goodbye."

---------------------

Elsa slowly open her eyes when a loud ticking pulled her out of her sleep. She slowly sits up and stops the noise from her alarm clock. She just sat still for a moment with her hand covering her face. She just needed to calm herself until her bedroom door opens and Anna's head popped out from the gap.

"Elsa?" Anna softly says.

Elsa takes her hands off her face. "What?" She asks.

Anna looks away and states gravely, "It's almost time."

Elsa grabs a handful of her blanket's soft fabric before choking out, "I'll be down in a minute."

Elsa looks down when she hears a click, signalling that Anna just closed the door. She finally brings herself to get up and get ready, all were done in a slow halfhearted way.

As she fixes her white blazer, her eyes wander to the reflection in the mirror. She examine her pale face, her cheeks, her nose, and finally her eyes. It wasn't the same old bright crystal eyes that she once remembered. It was lifeless. Dead. And she knows that she can't bring the shimmering color back to her eyes.

But something in her eyes, she saw difference. She saw in her mind a pair of cyan blue eyes with snowflake irises that seem to brighten even with the slightest touch of light. She saw a different person standing in front of her reflection. It wasn't her anymore.

It was Jack. He was wearing the blue hoodie that she gave him and he paired it with his usual brown pants. He was smiling to her, as if he was saying that it was okay. That it was safe to let go and move on. That she was fine because he will always be there to help her and watch over her.

Elsa sobbed, her hand reaching out to the mirror. Just as her fingertips brushed the cold glass, the image of him disappeared and she was now staring at her reflection. She sighs and wipes the wet streak on her cheek due to the tears that she shed.

With one last glance on the mirror, one last hope to see his face again for the last time, she sees another scenery.

It was him and her, dancing on that faithful night of tears and regrets. She steps forward and it was as if she was back on the dancefloor with him. Her eyes were fixated on his pale thin face, his tired eyes that concealed the dark circles, his lips that were pulled into a soft smile.

Her heart aches and she reached her hand out to caress his face. His face was cold and soft under her touch and she held him until the image fades and she was back on her same room on her white dress. Everything seemed normal and Elsa breathes a laugh out as her head fell to her chest.

It was just a plain memory but it meant everything to her. She would never let herself forget that memory of their last dance together

"Elsa?"

"Yes, Jack?"

"I'll be waiting for you."
