My audition for the talent show had gone stunningly well, and Andrew had decided to perform by himself, although what he was doing was a suprise for me. We had four days to practice, and tonight was our first out of three performances.
Performance after performance went by, and soon enough, Andrea, who was the announcer, said, "Up next is Brooklyn Thompson, who will be singing All I Ask, by Adele." I walked on stage, my heart pounding out of my chest.
You see, I haven't done a talent show since I was eleven. My hobbies have basically been on hold for seven years, but I did try to show skills that hadn't died. So ya. The music started, and my heartbeat began to calm down.
Thank God that the lights were practically blinding me, or else I would've had a panic attack. I sang, and slowly the stage felt natural to me.
All I ask is if,
This is my last night with you.
Hold me like I'm more than just a friend.
Give me a memory I can use.
Take me by the hand while we do,
What lovers do.
It matters how this ends.
Cause what if I never love again? The crowd was waving their hands back and forth, and I swayed slightly to the beat, sending my dark red dress swaying as well. Once I had finished my song, the crowd was standing, some whistling, and some with tears in their eyes.
Once Andrew had performed, in which he had done a hilarious comedy act, everyone took a final bow, and the show ended. I couldn't find Andrew afterward, through the mob of people trying to congratulate me, some even trying to get my autograph, God knows why.
Once I finally got out of the huge mob of people, I walked outside, trying to find Andrew, who despite his height, was very hard to find. Once the mob of people finally cleared, I saw Andrew, standing right in front of me with my favorite flowers, roses, in his hand.
I smiled as I ran over to him, nearly tripping in my heels in the process.
