"Damn. What did you do this time?" James asked, looking where Brooklyn had just gone. "Ya man, I've never seen Brook so mad before. You must've done something really bad to piss her off so much." Peter added.
I sat up, and my friends backed up a little. As I stood up, I asked, "Can I tell you the whole story, before you tell me how much I've screwed up?" Randal, Peter, and James looked at each other, and nodded.
I groaned as I stood up, my back hurting from landing in the snow. We all walked back to cabin five, and I told them the whole story. "All I had seen was the look of pure pain on Brook's face before Andrea pulled my face back in. I figured that Brook would've forgotten about it, because she was acting normally."
Peter by now had his head in his hands, James just had an exasperated look on his face, and Randal didn't even say anything. "Okay, letting Andrea kiss you was your first mistake." James said. I rolled my eyes. "No shit."
"Second, you shouldn't have let Andrea pull you back in." I just sighed, and decided to keep my mouth shut. "Third, you should've went after Brook and explained what happened." I looked at James like he was crazy and said, "And get myself killed? No thanks."
While James and Peter went on and on about what I did wrong, I just zoned out. That was until Randal asked, "Did Brooklyn say that she likes you?" I thought for a moment, and then realized what she said.
"She said-" I stopped, remembering that brief moment that Brook had me pinned to the snow coloured ground. "She said what?" Peter asked. "Ya. Spill." James demanded. I let out a sigh. "She said that she reacted the way she did, because-" Guilt began to make my heart sink.
"Because?" Randal asked. I felt tears began to threaten to spill. "Because she said that she had never-" My pride, dignity, and heart sank to my feet at this point. "She said that she's never fallen for anyone harder."
My friends all went wide eyed, and I just sat there, guilt causing me to choke up. I put my head in my hands, as tears fell down my face. "Brook probably thinks that I'm an arrogant ass now."
James nodded. "You need to make it up to her." I brought my head up. "How?" Peter got a mischievous smirk on his face, which I knew was a bad sign. "You could..." He moved his eyebrows up and down, which confused me.
"What does," I copied Peter's eyebrow motion, "mean?" Peter smiled, and clearly James understood something that I didn't. "Okay, can you please explain what's going on?" I asked. Randal started laughing, and when I finally understood what they were saying, I turned bright red.
"I am not doing that!" I said, turning even redder. "Well, if you're not doing that, then you could keep your promise." I looked at James, confused. "What promise?" I asked. James bent over and looked under his bed, and he came up holding an oddly familiar journal.
"Recognize this?" He taunted, waving the notebook side to side. He opened it, and that's when I realized who's notebook it was. It was mine. "No wait!" I reached for it, but it was just out of my reach.
"You stay back." James said. I backed up, and sat there, a pout forming on my face. James flipped through my journal, and when he found a certain page, he stopped, and showed it to the others.
Soon enough, all three of them started laughing. "Damn dude, just keep your promise." Peter said. I blushed, now knowing what page they saw. The one where I put what I said I wanted to do, or what I'd love to do, more specifically.
I nodded, and said to myself, "I'm going to keep my promise."
