An Alpha Dragon rider...Well this changes things a bit.
Eulay and Aisling stood up as a giant smile cracked across Eulay's face, her beauty radiating as usual.
"I thought you might be excited to learn this about me."
She jumped down off the mound of dirt and made her way over to us, Draioct and I looking over Aisling in awe. They were a perfect complement to us. Everywhere that we had the strength and visceral power, they had finesse and skill. We would be a very well rounded team...assuming they actually meant they were going to fight in the war with us.
"So I guess this means you would be more than happy for us to join you?"
Eulay smiled sweetly as she spoke, glancing from me to Draioct. I looked at Draioct as his giant mouth formed into a big dragon grin. He began laughing in his customary deep dragon laugh. Birds scattered here and there from their hiding places as his kind boom reverberated through the forest. He finished laughing and began addressing the elephants in the room.
"What a fortunate turn of events, thank you deeply for seeking us out. So now that we have met and everything is out in the open, do you plan on actually accompanying us to Retribution? This is where we will be directing the war from. If so, you will probably need to make some arrangements for the care of your Kingdom. Do they know you are an Alpha Rider?"
Aisling shifted uncomfortably as she and Eulay made eye contact, clearly having a conversation amongst themselves just as Draioct and I would. We stepped away for a minute to allow them some room to have their conversation.
After a few moments of uncomfortable silence and my leaf smashing massacre of boredom, they came to a conclusion and made their way over to us once again.
"We plan on revealing Aisling to the Nadar at our wedding. Before my father passed away he got the pleasure of meeting Aisling but was worried about my claim to the throne. It will only be cemented if I am married, hence why we waited in hope for your return. My father was worried they would attempt to overthrow me in the interim if they found out I was an Alpha Rider and a threat to the Fire Queen. So we waited, very few people knew of my true ability."
This was another complication added to our long list, I really didn't like the thought of being away from Retribution for this long. If something were to happen while I was off getting married I would feel terrible.
"I do not mean to sound rude or insensitive, but how long would it take to make all that happen? Is there someone you can trust to run the Kingdom in your absence?"
"I completely understand, I am eager to have my revenge as well. I have a group that is loyal to me. Plus, with the new information of me AND my new husband being Alpha Riders, I feel most people will no longer consider a rebellion. The wedding itself is being prepared as we speak, I figured you would want to leave relatively soon."
She was awesome. She had thought ahead and foreseen any issue I could have had and was as eager as me to get rid of the queen. I paused for a moment in reflection of how fortunate I had become before responding.
"Thank you Eulay. You are too kind. You've just met us and you've already changed our lives so greatly for the better. I appreciate you."
I blushed slightly as she smiled and we got back onto our Dragon's, the beautiful Aisling's white skin shining brilliantly in the limited light of our secluded area. I couldn't help but think about how brilliant she would look in direct sunlight. As we flew back, Draioct was attempting to ease my mind.
