Together we slammed into the nearest enemy, both of us hacking and slashing him into pieces almost instantly, our bond and understanding of one another growing with each minute we spent fighting together. We were a very effective team, our strengths so different that we perfectly complimented each other, combining into a deadly force. Where we were slow, strong, and unrelenting, they were quickly, deadly, and practiced. The forces of Retribution were filled with fervor at seeing their leader strike down opponents with ease.

It had actually not been that easy to shoot that beam of electricity but if it gave my soldiers hope it was worth it. My hands still felt weakened from the physical strength it took to hold that energy. The battleground was loud with the clattering of the enemy forces trying to rebuild their lines, metal clanging and scraping as men were dragged away, and new ones filled their place.

Draioct grabbed my eyes with his mind and directed me towards the gates of Retribution, their army had a sea of foot soldiers and they were beginning to advance towards the gate, my men standing on the other side in bright white Dragons Leather, a stark contrast to the surrounding mud and rock that covered the floor. Draioct banked hard, then dove straight into the heart of the advancing enemy line. His roar terrifyingly deafening. The sound sent an almost visible wave of terror through the enemy as they heard it.

"It's time to put Holbrook's training to the real test! Let's get in there!"

He let out a huge ball of plasma as we were diving into the men, the white beam exploding on impact and sending enemy men flying in every direction, catching the attention of all the surrounding foot soldiers, the smell of charred material filling the air as we flew past, the plasma beam humming as he rained down flame.

Dree banked hard and landed in the new crater he created. I leapt from his back and while in the air I quickly pulled a pillar of dirt jutting from the ground to land on. I wanted an elevated position allowing me to see the approaching forces. I quickly began slamming the Queen's forces with walls of Earth, sending men bouncing off into each other, grunts of pain, and the sound of rocks grinding filling the air as the walls made contact with the soldiers.

Immediately they began directing their fire at me and Draioct, pelting us with attack after attack from every direction. I frantically parried and blocked every attack and would periodically catch glimpses of Draioct doing the same. For every enemy Draioct would smash or melt, three more would pop up. They were easily slashed down but their larger numbers began to overwhelm us.

Just as a sliver of doubt flickered into the back of my mind, a creeping fog of fear, I was saved. Suddenly Eulay and Aisling dropped from the sky to assist us in holding Retribution's gate. They slammed into the ground as they landed, creating a ball of dust, clouding my senses and forcing me to inhale some of the particles that tasted like dust and war. Eulay spun in a circle as she calmly and quickly formed a large wall out of water from seemingly nowhere around us like a box. Time seemed to slow as I watched her graceful and fluid movements. She then gently grunted as she shoved the wall of water at the advancing men, pushing them back and giving us space.

We now stood in the center of a box wall of water, its teal blue color constantly streaming upwards ina never ending stream to begin again at the bottom. I could see little particles of debris swirling violently within their own world of chaos. The enemy soldiers on the other side could do nothing but watch.

I finally snapped back into the present as a dragon roared overhead. Eulay was now closing her eyes as she strained to maintain the wall. She was giving me a moment to collect myself, but seemed to also be doing something else. This was obviously requiring Eulay great effort as she stood there grunting and beads of sweat began running down her forehead. I had never seen a water mage with this level of skill before. It was simply amazing to see.
