The two of us glanced at one another, these men, and this whole chamber were amazing. The "Creators of Dragons" though? What were they talking about? Draioct and Aisling were standing behind us, their eyes fixed on the men sitting in the chairs, particularly Bellock in the front. Some instinct inside me told me that I should bow at their presence, so I did, Eulay following suit. Bellock returned our bow modestly, then slowly returned to his seat, as he sat a small cloud of dust arose from his seat.

"Eulay and Adam. What a special life we have created for the two of you. Please take a seat and listen to our story. Learn from our mistakes, and help to right the world."

As he finished his sentence he waved his hand and two stone blocks rose from the floor, making perfect places for the two of us to sit. Aisling and Draioct lying down behind us contently, a wave of pure happiness washed over us all, their presence was intoxicating. I grasped Eulay's had as we sat beside one another, her warmth and love completing my joy.

When Bellock had decided we were ready, he glanced over his shoulders at the other men sitting beside him, they all took turns nodding their head in affirmation for him to proceed, their long white beards almost touching the floor where they sat.

"You see, we come from a time where the world was almost destroyed by evil men, the pushed humanity to the brink of extinction. Humans and Dragons naturally reproduce and further their lineage, we however found a way to enhance the select few. We need pairs to prevent the world from destroying itself, se we started building Alpha Riders. We comb through the future and find the people with potential and simply give them the means to realize that potential."

My head was spinning with new information, I had no reason not to believe these men and their story. I did have to admit that it seemed rather impossible, choosing riders? Giving them power?

Bellock continued as if sensing my hesitation.

"We do however get things wrong sometimes, or people lose their way. For example Vadoris...we had such high hopes for her. Our vigilance was blinded by our ambition, and lead to her slipping down the path of evil. However. You and Eulay are our chance to correct this. We spent a very long time waiting to find the two of you, combined only the two of you can take down Vadoris, and her quest for unjust revenge."

Eulay and I turned and looked at one another, happy at the confirmation that we were meant to be together. Eulay's face changed quickly as a look of realization washed over her.

"Wait a second. If you gave Vadoris the powers, why have you not stopped her? Why have you let all these people suffer for so long? Why haven't you done anything? Why must Adam and I risk everything to stop YOUR experiment?!"

"All great questions my child, and I understand your displeasure. I am sorry to say this but it is not our way, besides we are no longer powerful enough. It took years of gathering and resting to bestow the level of power that we did in the two of you. We will be done with this life and onto the next soon, that is why you two are so important. You both will take our place as the keepers of balance when we are gone. You and Adam's long lives will be extended even further, so you may watch over Earth."

"Eulay and I's long life? I am a normal human, she will greatly outlive me."

The old mage chuckled slightly at my words as a slight twinkle sparked in his eye.

"Ah ah ah...You are HALF human, remember? You will live just as long as Eulay, and we will be bestowing the power upon the two of you as protectors, further expanding that already long life. "
