With his alarm clock blaring, Jacob woke up with a big day ahead of him. He rolled out of bed and slammed his hand on his alarm clock. He sat there on his bed as he rubbed his eyes with a yawn.
Jacob was a 17-year-old white boy who originated from New York. His mother was a company owner that forced her to move from one city to another and one state to another. Sadly, she had to drag Jacob and his younger sister along with her. Jacob always wanted to live with his dad in New York, but he had no custody of the two kids. So, Jacob had to go with his mom everywhere which landed him here in Dallas, Texas.
Jacob opened his eyes and saw the big brown boxes sitting around his room waiting to be unpacked. He had been meaning to do that for a couple of days now, but he forgot. Today was his first day as the newest student at Grand Ridge High School. The only people he knew at his new school were the principal and the football coach. He had got a spot on the football team as a wide receiver. He was hoping that he could at least make some friends while he was at this school.
Jacob got up off his bed and headed into the hallway so he could go to the bathroom to shower.

After getting ready and finishing eating a short breakfast, Jacob was walking to school. He had memorized the walk for the countless times his mom made him walk it to make sure he didn't get lost.
Once he made it to school, Jacob pulled his schedule from his book bag and headed inside. He was shoved around the halls as he tried to look for his first class.
When he finally found the class, he walked in to see a group of boys standing in the back of the class throwing pencils and pens at each other. The rest of the students in the class weren't paying them any mind while they did their own things.
Jacob sat at the front desk since it was the only one without anyone or anybody's stuff in it. He let out a sigh as he knew that the welcoming committee for new high schoolers was only in the movies.

After a long and lonely day, Jacob walked to the Athletics building for the after-school football practice. When he walked inside he made his way down a few halls until he came to the football coach's office. Jacob adjusted the strap of his football duffle bag on his shoulder before he knocked on the door and waited for the Hispanic man with his big curly brown hair back in a ponytail to notice him.
When the coach looked up and smiled widely. He got up and walked over to Jacob. "Jacob Miller. It's a pleasure. I'm glad you found your way, I was worried for a second there." He shook his hand as he talked with a wide smile.
Jacob chuckled. "Yeah, I found it. Coach...."
"Mateo." Coach chuckled. "Coach Sanchez, but all of the players call me Mateo. I have to finish up some work but..." Mateo looked out the door of his office and saw some of the players walking up and down the hallway.
"Hey, Jose! Come here." Mateo called out. Jacob turned around to see a Mexican boy with his black hair pushed back from a comb. He was shirtless with a small tattoo on his left shoulder and in his football pants with the padding.
"Huh?" Jose asked with a confused look on his face.
Mateo padded Jacob's chest. "This is Jacob Miller. He's the new player that I was telling you guys about. How about you show him around?"
Jose looked at Jacob then at Mateo. "Um...you didn't tell me he was-"
"Thanks." Mateo smiled. "Show him to his new locker in the locker room and then onto the field."
Jose sighed as he nodded his head for Jacob to follow him. Jacob followed behind the Mexican boy down a short hall. They turned to the left into a large room. Jacob saw there were lockers along all four walls and benches a couple of feet from the lockers. The middle of the room was empty and had dirty towels and jerseys in the middle. There was a doorway in the far corner of the room. There was no door and the walls were painted blue in that room. In the locker room, the walls were blue and gold.
