" I win." Sophie said smugly putting the last chess piece down.
" Yeah, such a win it is to cheat three times." Alex said smirking at her.
" Such a loser." She said getting up to stretch a little, causing her shirt to be ridden up, and her scar became visible to whoever was staring.
" Technically, it's not a game if you cheat, so there are no winners or losers." Alex said closing the chess set and leaning back against the soft cover of the couch.
" Whatever makes you sleep at night." She said ruffling his hair as she headed to the kitchen to get a soda can.
They were too tired to go to the cafe tonight, so they decided to chill at James's place, only James wasn't back from work yet, Sophie had a key and let them in.
" Does this man listen to anything other than Frank Sinatra?" Ian said grumpily rummaging through James's CDs.
" You're the one with the bad music taste." Lily pointed out from her place on the floor next to Andrew, leaning against the legs of the sofa.
" It's called cool, Lil."
Two weeks has passed since Ian's accident, and he became remarkably better, the bruises on his face vanished, and he was left with two small scars above his right eyebrow. He still walks on a crutch though, his knee was supposed to get better in a week or so.
" He may listen to boring music, but he always has great food." Alex said holding up two bags of chips as he opened one, and threw the other to Andrew.
" I have food for people who I invite, not for those who barge into my place while I am doing my job." A familiar voice said from the door, and they all turned around to see James standing in the doorway, keys in his hands, and his eyebrows high enough to reach the sky.
" Sophie made us!" Alex said like a kid who was caught eating cookies.
James chuckled and shook his head, passing his friends and walking towards the kitchen, were he saw a certain redhead struggling to reach for a glass.
" Stupid tall James with stupid tall cabinets." She muttered standing on her toes and reaching her hand as far away as she could, but she still didn't reach the glass.
James smirked and walked to where she was standing, put his hand on her waist as she jumped a little with startled gasp, but she calmed down when she smelt the expensive cologne she had grown accustomed to. He reached above her head and pulled the glass with ease from it's place, giving it to her with a smug smile.
" Hey." She said innocently, knowing she is in trouble for letting them in with her key.
" Hello." James said crossing his arms, and sending her a taunting grin.
They both stared at each other for a while, Sophie trying as hard as she can to stand her ground against his seductive grin.
" You're not taking my key away." She said putting a face of fear on, as James burst out laughing, she reminded him of his niece in that moment.
" No, I'm not, but you do owe me a drink." James said referring to the can in her hand.
" Fine by me." She said walking in front of him, as he shook his head.
He went up to his room and changed to sweatpants a t-shirt, rather than the suit and the tie he was wearing.
He walked down the stairs of his home, to find his friends sprawled in the living room, talking about nothing and everything.
" I want to marry in March, but Andrew doesn't want to wait that long." Lily said taking a chip from the bag laying in front of them on the floor, and James tried not to flinch as crumbs fell on his expensive carpet.
" March is three months away, Lil, why do we have to wait that long?" He whined.
" Three months! That's barely enough to plan a wedding." Sophie said sitting coolly on the sofa, as James sat next to her.
" Thank you, Sophie." Lily said smugly high fiving her best friend.
" Girls." Ian said shaking his head as he drank a glass of scotch.
" Are you doing it at the beach house?" James asked referring to Andrew's parents beach house in Beverly Hills.
" Maybe, we still hasn't talked much about it." Andrew clarified shrugging his shoulders a little.
"See? And he wants to throw a perfect wedding in less than three months." Lily said lightly slapping Andrew's shoulder.
" I just wanna marry the woman I love, is that such a bad thing?" Andrew said faking sincerity, and like always, Lily fell for it.
"Aww, it's okay then, we can discuss it later." She said leaning her head on his shoulder and Ian and James smirked and Alex high fived Andrew behind Lily's back.
"It's cute you actually think I didn't notice." Lily said with her eyes closed making all the guys stare at Andrew, like sending him a message -why did you love such a smart woman- they didn't know all women were smart.
Sophie laughed taking a sip from her drink.
"Don't you guys want to watch a movie, or something?" Ian asked looking at James's DVD.
"YES, we can watch you've got mail, or forrest gump, or no no, even better, cast awa-" Sophie was saying, her eyes gleaming with excitement when they all groaned.
"We all love Tom Hanks, but this is too damn much." Alex said glaring at Sophie.
"There is no such thing as too much of tom hanks, Alex, do you actually process the words in your brain before you say them?" She glared back leaning forward in her seat.
"At least I have a brain to process words." Alex muttered, resulting in Sophie hitting him on the head with a pillow.
"We're watching The Breakfast Club, you can calm down now." Ian said sitting back on the couch after putting the movie in DVD.
"Why do you get to decide?" Sophie asked forwarding her glare to Ian now.
"I'm injured." He shrugged nonchalantly.
The guys all nodded in agreement and Sophie groaned, leaning back in her chair, wondering why she chose that many dumb friends in her life.
