Sophie's POV.Leaning against the wall, watching as the champagne swirled in my glass, I looked at the scene in front of me and sighed with content.
Andrew and Lily standing with some of our relatives, as people congratulated them on their engagement. I don't think this is what I had in mind when Uncle Dylan said he was throwing them an engagement party in his place, I expected just a few family members and close friends, but this, this was huge.
I played with the hem of my dress as I stood to the side, hoping no one would notice me.
I was happy for my cousin and my best friend, but I had this sinking feeling inside of me, like something bad was about to happen, and no matter how hard I tried to shake it, it's still lingering there, haunting my very existence.
I have been paranoid since I saw Jason in a car parked in front of the house here, but I never felt this feeling, and I didn't like it.
I scanned the crowd with my eyes, looking for any of my friends, when a voice startled me.
"Looking for someone, princess?" James said making me jump in my place, and I thank god that I put the champagne flute down earlier.
"James! You scared me." I said scowling, and I couldn't help but check out that Greek God complex of his. He has his hard neatly brushed to the side, and he was wearing a navy suit with cream pants, exclusively tailored for his likeness, and that stupid hot smirk of his was plastered on his face as he laughed at my reaction.
"You're the one who's jumpy." He shrugged standing next to me, stealing a quick look at the crowd.
"Have you seen Alex or Ian?" I asked noticing they were the only ones missing.
"Alex is outside making a call, I don't know where Ian is and that is the universal code for -he's having a quickie in the guest room-" He said and I groaned.
"God, does he have to do this every time? Aunt Rose caught him last time and it wasn't pleasant." I said cringing as James chuckled.
"It's in his nature, what can we do?"
"Nothing obviously." I shrugged and noticed Liz standing with some guy, a few feet from us.
"Looks like his sister is going to get some too." I smirked as James moved his eyes to where I was looking.
"He better not hear you say that, he's been looking for a way to drive this dude away since she met him." James said and I immediately glared at him.
"What? She likes him, James I swear to god if he tries anythin-"
"Calm down, woman, he's not good for Liz and Ian doesn't want her to get hurt." James said raising his hands in surrender, but my glare didn't falter.
"You men and your protectiveness, if he continues to drive every guy she meets away, she will hate him, I'm telling you." I said crossing my arms and staring ahead.
