"All I know is you said 'Hello' and your eyes look like coming home. Oh, I know since yesterday everything has changed..."
My stomach was in knots as we arrived at his parents' home. Ethan took my hand and kissed the back of it.
"It'll all be okay. They'll love you, just like I do. And I'm pretty sure they'll be happy to find out that we're having two new additions to the family." Releasing my hand, he placed his on my stomach and smiled.
With one last soft kiss, we left the car and knocked on the door. A woman in her early 50's opened the door with a smile. She had Ethan's chocolate brown hair, but had matching cocoa eyes. Ethan's were lighter and more of a honey tone.
"Ah, my darling son! And who is this?" She gave me a questioning look.
"Hi," I smiled, "I'm Katherine, but you can call me Katie if you would like." She gave me a kind look and gave Ethan a nod of approval. He rolled his eyes and I giggled into my sweater covered hands.
"Let's go inside," Ethan grumbled as we made our way towards the living room.
"Is there anything I could help with?" I asked once pulled inside. From what I saw, there were about 30 or more people in the room. Ethan gave me a look as to say "you shouldn't have said that."
"Yes! It would be wonderful if you could help me and Emily finish up dinner." And with that, I was whisked away while giving my loving fiancee an apologizing look.
Emily was Ethan's younger sister who was only twenty, making her five years younger than him. She was blonde with dark brown eyes that matched her mother's.
We made small talk as we finished making macaroni and cheese and a ham. No one brought up if I was dating Ethan or not so I didn't say anything.
Dinner was all ready and we sat down to say our prayers. My seat was next to Ethan and his sister was on the other side of me. A random relative sat across from me. He seemed to be 18 or so, and very bored.
After we were done praying, we ate. I noticed the only drink in front of me was wine, so I felt a little set back.
"Hey, hun?" I whispered towards Ethan over the loud chatter.
"Yeah, babe?" He looked at me with curiosity clear in his eyes.
"Is there something I could actually, you know, drink? Like water or something?" Glancing at my glass, realization dawned his features as he chuckled.
"Sorry, I'll get you some water." I giggled and he left his seat.
"Yo bro, where you going?" Emily called after him.
"I'll be back in a second. Don't get your panties in a twist." She huffed at his retort and I laughed again.
He returned not even a minute later with a glass of water for me. I thanked him and took a little sip.
"What's wrong, dear? Do you not like the wine? I could find you something else if you'd like," Taylor, Ethan's mother, said.
"Oh no, it's fine. I just can't have any alcohol. I bet it tastes great, though." After that sentence, I felt my stomach turn and I knew what was coming next. I excused myself from the table and quickly asked Ethan where the bathroom was. He seemed to catch on and hurriedly guided me to my destination.
My food came out right after I opened the toilet lid. My wonderful fiancee held my hair back as my delicious dinner came out covered in stomach acid.
Once I was done, I washed my mouth out and took a quick breath mint. My face looked a bit paler and my eyes a bit droopier.
"You know," I started, "I don't even know why it's called morning sickness. It's all damn day." Ethan chuckled at my little rant and we left the bathroom.
Everyone was still at the table so I sat down and sipped at my water. I didn't really feel like eating at the moment. I felt really tired, but I didn't want to ruin Ethan's fun so I bared with it.
"Okay everyone, listen up," Ethan stood up and smiled at me. "I would like to make an announcement."
"I always knew you were gay!" Emily yelled. Everyone at the table, including me, cracked up. Ethan just grumbled under his breath.
"No, actually," he glared at his sister, "I wanted to introduce two new people to the family. One, is my lovely fiancee, Katherine." Everyone gasped. I guess no one noticed my engagement ring.
"When did this happen?" Ethan's father, Antonio, asked.
"You don't need to know," Ethan joked, "but I still haven't introduced the second person. Katie, please stand up." I stood up slowly and with hesitation. "I'm sorry everybody, but you won't be able to meet the other one until September." Ethan laid a hand on my stomach and all the girls in the room screamed. I had to hold back from flinching.
"Welcome to the family, Katie!" Taylor pulled me into a tight hug.
The rest of the night consisted of people asking to see my ring and the little ones wanting to poke my belly. I overheard Ethan getting a lot of congratulations as well.
The party ended and I said goodbye to everyone. I was ready to pass out from exhaustion. Once we were in the car, I was out like a light.

I felt my seat belt being taken off and the floor beneath my feet become air. Two strong arms supported my back and knees. I snuggled into the person, trying to gain warmth from New York's biting cold.
I groaned as my body hit a soft surface, most likely a bed. I felt my sweater and jeans being taken off, leaving me in a white tank top and my dark purple underwear.
I cracked an eye open and saw Ethan staring right at me.
"Go back to sleep, it's late." I shuffled under the blankets.
"Then come here." I beckoned him to come lay down and he did.
"Before you go to sleep, I have a little question."
"What is it," I murmured.
"Will you come live here with me?" My eyes opened one more tine to look at him.
"Yeah, I would love to. Let's talk about this in the morning. Goodnight, I love you both." I smiled as I kissed his cheek and rubbed my belly.
"I love you both, too. Goodnight."
