Not A Chapter, Sorry

So, I apologize for not updating in a while. A lot has happened in the past few months, including two new family members. My sister in law and my second niece. Life has been a little crazy and I'm so sorry for not releasing any new chapters. I promise you I have a few chapters in the works, just give me a little more time to finish them! For now, I'll make a little one-shot that I hope you enjoy!

Katie sat around in the living room of her empty apartment, playing on her phone while the television in front of her played some gameshow. She was falling asleep when a vibration of her phone brought her from her daze. She snapped her eyes open and looked at the text.

"Wyd tonight?"

Katie smiled, it was from Ethan.

"Nothing, really. Just chilling in front of the television half awake. Wbu?"

His response was quick.

"On my way over to my secretary's house. She's apparently very tired and I must fix that."

Katie's smile dropped when she realized what he meant. She swept her eyes around the apartment, deeming it filthy.

"Fudge nuggets," she mumbled under her breath.

"How long does she have before you get there?"

"About 2 mins."

"You bitch!" She yelled, scrambling off of her couch. She ran around her apartment, throwing clothes into random hampers whether they were clean or dirty. She had spent the last few days at Ethan's house, only coming home to change after work.

A knock was at the door.

"Guess who," a masculine voice said from the other side.

"Hmm, an asshole who won't give me further notice?" Katie mumbled as she opened the door.

"Exactly," Ethan said, drawing out the first syllable. He gave Katie a light peck on the lips before inviting himself inside.

"What do you want from me?" Katie groaned. It was nine o'clock at night and she didn't have time for his shit.

"I..." He rubbed the back if his neck, "I had a hard time falling asleep and I was wondering if I could spend the night?" He didn't look her in the eyes, showing just how embarrassed he was.

Katie wanted to laugh, finding his flustered state adorable. Opting for silence, she hugged him instead of letting out her giggles.

"That's perfectly fine. Let me just shut down for the night and you can wait in my room." She pecked Ethan on the nose and sent him on his way.

Katie then proceeded to turn on the television, shut off the kitchen lights, and shove off her skinny jeans. This left her in a large hoodie and underwear.

She walked into her room, finding Ethan already under the sheets. She crawled in next to him and felt him shift. He lazily hefted an arm onto her side.

"I love you, did you know that?" Ethan murmured in the dark.

"Yes I did, but it's nice to hear it every now and then. I love you, too." The room was then silent for a few minutes.

"I wish we could stay like this forever." Ethan tightened his grip on Katie.

"Yeah, me too," she whispered back.

Then, the pair finally succumbed to sleep. They shared the same dream of a wonderful future full of love and life.

A future built for them and them alone.
