Another Life

The summoning

Zoey and I are up all night. I'm going to go to the store to get some pills for her to sleep. I'm worried about her. She is getting worst. She is hallucinating and her dreams are getting worst. I'm worrying people are noticing.

I walk to the store. It's the only store here basically. It's a CVS with a Walmart combined together. I walk to the over the counter medicines. I look for melatonin for Zoey. I'll dissolve it in her pop before she goes to bed. I can't find it. I go and look over in another place. I finally find it and head for check out.

"Hey sofie," Sebastian says. Crap not the time. Hopefully he doesn't see the pills. He does great.

"Hi," I say.

"What do you need to sleeping pills for? Are you having trouble sleeping?" He asked. I go still. I can't give Zoey away while she is a mess like this.

"Ummm... yeah I am. This use to help me as a kid so," I say. Looking at the ground. I hate lying but it seems I keep having to lie more and more.

"I'm worried about you sof," Sebastian says.

"You don't need to worry about me," I say. Taking his hand. We walk towards check out.

"I know but I do," he says. I know he does. He doesn't need to worry about me. "Can I drive you home?" He asked.

"Actually could we go somewhere?" I ask. He looks wearily, like I might break up with him. "I'm not breaking up with you I didn't get any sleep at all," I say. He nods. We check out and head to his car.

Lucky he had a blanket. It was cold outside. I wanted to go to the park and sit by the lake. We put the blanket down and we lay down. I put my head on his shoulder. I can see the stars in the sky. I need to get back to zoey but everything goes black around me. I fall asleep.

Sebastian's pov

Sofie fell asleep on my shoulder. I lay there for alittle bit. I get up but she doesn't wake up. She hasn't been sleeping. She thinks I don't know but I know she hasnt. I don't know why and she won't tell me the truth. It must be important if she won't tell me.

I carry her out to the car. I put her in the passenger seat. I put on her seat belt which was hard to do since she was asleep after all. I stare at her for a minute she is so beautiful, funny, smart, brave. For all the things she has been through. For her to still be ok like this is such a miracle. I don't know what I would do without her. I call zoey.

"Hey Zoey I have Sofie with me. She is asleep I'm around the corner keep and eye out for me so i can bring her in.

"Ok, I'll look for you," Zoey says. Just then after I hang up do I pull into the driveway. Zoey opens the door. I get out and go over to sofie. I pick her up and bring her inside. I put her on the couch and sit beside her. I'm not leaving till she wakes up.

Sofie's pov

I have a dream where I'm running in the woods. I can feel my heart beating outside of my chest. I keep running and running. I still see the blood all over the floors and the walls. I run until I make it to the cliff. I hear someone behind me and spin around.

"Sofie, what a pleasure it is to see you here," a man's voice says. I can't see him he is in the shadow.

"Who are you? Why are you following me?" I ask.

"Your find out soon enough," he says. Slowly walking out of the shadow. I don't see his face because, my dreams ends.

I wake up sweat pouring down my face. I'm drenched in sweat. I look around where I am. I'm in the living room. How did I get here?

"Sofie what happened?" Sebastian says. I look down I'm still sweating.

"I got hot," I lied. Looking at my fingernails. Chipping off the nail Polish. He looks at me. He looks away I see tears in his eyes. Damn it I hate it when he cries.

"Don't cry. Please," I say.

"Then tell me what's going on," he says. My phone rings. I pick it up. It's a blocked number. They didn't call me they texted me.

What a nice girlfriend making your boyfriend cry. That's what happens when you keep secrets. Won't be long. I'm coming.- blocked.

I freeze up. This can't be happening.
