Arriving at the hotel proved more to be more comical than leaving the Emmy reception. Once again, Jessica struggled with her dress and Sarah had to help her. The driver had parked farther away from the curb than either of them expected, but it wasn't really a problem. That is until Jessica tripped and almost fell over the next level of concrete.
"Oh my god, Jess. Look at you." Sarah mumbled out while laughing hysterically,"You're not even drunk yet and you're already tripping over shit!"
"Oh, just shut up and help me."
Sarah took Jessica by an elbow and guided her to the main entrance of their hotel.
The doorman greeted them with a quick 'good evening' before letting them pass through to the lobby, which was strangely quiet considering the amount of people who were staying there. Jessica noticed that the front desk area was vacant, save the one receptionist who looked half asleep.
"Stay here, I'll be back in a second." Jessica said to Sarah.
"Are you sure you'll be able to make it on your own?" Sarah asked with a mischievous smile.
Jessica grinned wide before giving her the finger. Sarah scoffed, feigning offense at the gesture. The older actress laughed before walking off.
"What can I do for you ma'am?" The receptionist asked.
"I don't know if this is anything you can do, but, I would like a bottle of tequila, it doesn't matter what kind, delivered to the 23rd floors presidential suite."
"And what name would your suite be under?"
"Lange. Jessica Lange."
The young girls eyes widened.
"You're...I-I mean...Yes, Ms. Lange, we'll have that up to your room right away."
Jessica chuckled before responding.
"Thank you. And call me Jessica. Ms. Lange makes me sound as old as I feel sometimes."
Jessica turned around and motioned to the elevators.
"What floor are you on Jess?" Sarah was curious. Most of the cast and crew had been on the same floor, with the exception of Kathy and Jessica.
"The 23rd. Why?"
"Wow." Sarah was surprised.
"What?"
The elevators doors had opened and the two stepped in. Jessica pressed the button for the 23rd floor.
"The rest of us are on the 12th. Someone's special." Sarah said jokingly.
"Really?" This surprised Jessica,"I thought we were on all different floors. Kathy has the other presidential suite on my floor."
"YOU AND KATHY GOT A PRESIDENTIAL?"
"Yeah. I thought we all did."
"Figures, the two legends get the best rooms." Sarah chuckled.
"I am not a legend, thank you very much."
"Oh yes you are."
"No, I'm just me. Just Jessica."
Sarah rolled her eyes.
The two women continued to make small talk until the elevator dinged to signal the arrival at their floor. Jessica took the lead this time, her room wasn't that difficult to find considering that there were only two rooms on the entire floor.
Jessica used her key card to open the door and walked in, Sarah followed.
The older woman entered the suite like it was nothing, Sarah, however, was glued to the spot. The whole place had a very Victorian flare to it, mostly whites and grays with the occasional dash of color. The chairs, tables, lamps, even the wall paper had the same elegant style. It was even more than she imagined it, she couldn't help but feel just how well the style fit Jessica.
Sarah hadn't even realized how long she had been standing there gawking at the clearly expensive suite until Jessica emerged from a room in comfortable clothes.
"You still standing there?" Jessica questioned.
"Sorry, it's just so beautiful." Sarah said quietly.
"Yes, well, I really wish Ryan wouldn't go through all this trouble. I'm just as happy in one of the regular rooms as I am here."
"You are the queen of AHS, and this room is certainly fit for a queen."
Jessica rolled her eyes.
"I am not a queen."
"Uh-huh. Okay, you keep telling yourself that."
Jessica sat down in one of the elaborate chairs with a huff. Sarah sat on one of the couches, not very comfortably due to her dress. Jessica seemed to notice.
"I have something more comfortable, if you would like to change." Jessica said softly.
"If you don't mind."
"Of course not."
Jessica directed her to another room that stored her extra clothes. Sarah would no doubt fit something that she had. Just as the younger actress had rounded the corner there was a knock at the door followed by the stereotypical,"Room Service!".
Jessica stood and went to the door, as expected, it was the bottle she had ordered earlier. She tipped the man nicely and sent him on his way. She made her way to the small dining area and grabbed two crystal shot glasses before returning to the living space.
Sarah emerged just as Jessica was pouring their shots.
"Well, you sure as hell know me, Lange." Sarah laughed.
"You told me you wanted to get shit faced, so I delivered."
Sarah went to sit, but then realized something was missing: music.
She glanced round, looking for anything that could play music, but the only thing she saw was the large TV that was on the far wall.
"Jess."
"Hmm?"
"What kind of TV is that?"
"One of those fancy smart TV's. I don't know how to use it though."
"It's alright. I got it."
Jessica handed Sarah the remote. She expertly maneuvered through the screens and soon Lana Del Rey filled the air.
Jessica scooted a shot over to Sarah.
"A toast." Sarah said loudly.
"To what?" Jessica questioned.
"To you, to the, to what ever the hell comes next."
Jessica laughed, Sarah beamed, the pair counted to three and threw back the first shot of the night.
