Tonight, Jessica had a fight with Sam. A screaming Battle Royale that covered everything and anything that they could use to hurt each other. Children, work, travel, etc. She had brought up Sam's cheating. And in turn, Sam brought up her infatuation Sarah.

"You know, you have no problem making time to go and fuck other woman, but if I ask you to come home and spend the night with me suddenly you are so busy." Jessica spat.

"That's not true Jesse and you know it."

Jessica gave a hollow laugh.

"Oh, so you just so happen to wear women's perfume now?"

"You know, I would make time to be home and be with you. But all I ever hear you talk about is 'Sarah this' and 'Sarah that'. If you love Sarah so much why don't you go and fuck her."

Jessica gasped. Sam immediately regretted it.

"Jesse."

She turned her back to him

"Jesse, I'm so sorry." He reached out to comfort her.

"Don't fucking touch me." Jessica said, smacking Sam's hand away.

"Jesse, please. Listen to me. I'm sorry."

"Don't talk to me. Don't you dare fucking talk to me." Jessica whsipered,"I have to leave."

Jessica turned to leave again, Sam tried to stop her. She threw her hands up and didn't say a word. Walking to the door, Jessica grabbed her keys and stood at the door. She turned to face Sam one last time.

"Jesse, please..." He begged.

"I'm sorry, I really am." Jessica walked out the door.

20 minutes later she arrived at Sarah's house. She sat in her car for a while trying to figure out what she was going to say. She didn't want to upset Sarah, although she knew that was inevitable. Finally she got out of her car and walked up to the door.

Jessica didn't get a chance to knock before Sarah opened the door.

"I was wondering when you were going to come inside."

Jessica smiled. Sarah stood aside to let her walk through. Jessica had made herself at home on the couch.

"Sam called me." Sarah explained,"He told me about the whole thing."

"He did?" Jessica questioned.

"Yeah, even the part about me."

Jessica's head dropped into her hands and sighed heavily.

"What he said was really fucked up."

"No shit."

"What you said was really fucked up too."

"I know."

Jessica paused a moment before she continued.

"I don't know what to do Sarah. I don't know if I have the energy to try any more."

"You don't have to." Sarah said softly.

"I know. But I do love him. I always have. I just don't love what he's become." Jessica paused,"He's this shell of a man who once had good morals, and I don't know when he changed."

Sarah remained silent.

"And when he brought you up, I just-I just shut down. It was like all I could do was gasp and stare at him, you know? And he looked at me like I have some way of controlling how I feel."
