Jessica heard the front door open and close with a loud bang. She assumed that Sam had finally made it home. In fact she knew it was him because shortly after, she heard the 'I'm going to get a glass of water and eat something so hopefully she won't notice I'm really fucked up' ritual. Jessica sighed and decided to roll away from his side of the bed, hoping that he would just leave her be when he finally decided to waltz his drunk ass into the bedroom.
"Jesse?" Sam called from the kitchen,"You still up?"
No reply came.
"Jesse?" He called even louder,"Come on, I know you're awake. Get up and come sit with me."
Jessica huffed as she threw the cover off of her. She didn't really want to, but she knew that if she didn't go, he would come get her anyway.
She walked down the hall from their bedroom to the small kitchen. She could already smell the alcohol mixed with another woman's perfume.
Probably some twenty-something with a brand new pair of tits. Jessica rolled her eyes inwardly before rounding the corner into their kitchen.
"Hey.." Sam mumbled.
"Hey.." Jessica said back.
"Sorry for getting back so late. Me and the boys-" Jessica cut him off.
"Went out to get drinks and then smashed some young girl. Am I right?"
"Jesse...Please don't. I'm not in the mood for a fight."
"Oh please. You're always in a mood for a fight." Jessica snapped at him.
"Jess, I'm warning you. I'm really not in the mood for you're shit." Sam snapped back.
"My shit? My shit, Sam? Because you being a drunk is somehow my shit."
"That's not what I meant.."
"Then what did you mean Sam? Did you mean that you're not in the mood to be called out for what you are? What you did?"
Sam gave Jessica a hollow laugh.
"And what am I exactly? And what did I do?"
"You know what you are Sam. You're a liar, a drunk.." Jessica paused to look him right in the eye,"...and you're a fucking cheat."
