Annabeth's POV
It was Monday morning, and were all sat down in the hall, eating breakfast, when somebody came around with our schedules. I looked at mine to see that I had potions for period one, with Professor Slughorn.
"Seaweed Brain, what do you have first?" I ask him.
"Potions, what about you, Wise Girl?"  He replies.
"Same," I say, grinning.
"Cool!" He says, a huge smile breaking across his face.
"What about all of you guys?" I ask, looking around.
"We all have potions except for Neville. He didn't take it as a NEWT. Normally it is the Gryffindors, with the Slytherins," Hermione explained.
"I thought that the Gryffindors and Slitherins didn't get along particularly well," Calypso said.
"They don't," Ron said, bluntly.
"Oh," Calypso said, in reply.
"Then why are we put with them in class?" Piper asks.
"Beats me, but they've done it every year," Harry said.
"Great," Jason said.

After breakfast, we walked to potions, which was in the dungeons. We had to follow our new friends, of course, otherwise we would have got list countless times, in this maze of a school. When we arrived, we waited outside for a few minutes, before we we're let in to the class room. I took a seat next to Percy, who held my hand under the table.
"Hello class! Welcome to seventh year potions. Today, we shall be brewing the Volubilis Potion, which alters the drinkers voice. In addition, it can return the drinkers voice if they have lost it and the fore can be used as an antidote the the silencing charm. To brew the potion, you will need honeywater, mint sprigs, stewed mandrake and the syrup of hellebore. When finished, it should be a yellow colour. The recipe for the potion is on page 268 in the advanced potions making book, you will be working with the person sat next to you, and begin," Professor Slughorn said cheerfully. I turned to the said page, in the book, which all of us had bought in Ancient Greek, and begin to read.
Step one
To brew this potion, one has to heat the initial mix of ingredients until it turns red, then green.
Step two
• Next, the potion-maker has to add Honeywater until the liquid turns pink. The brew has to be heated again, this time until it turns orange. When mint sprigs are added, the potion turns into a shade of green. The potion has to be heated once more, until it turns blue.
Step three
• Then, more mint sprigs are to be added. By this time the potion should be have turned pink again. Stewed Mandrake is to be added next, at which point the potion turns orange.
Step five
• A small amount of Syrup of Hellebore should be added next, turning the potion blue.
Step six
• To finish the brew, one has to heat the potion until it's red and heat it some more until it turns a pleasant yellow. Once finished, the potion should release some sparks.

Percy was still reading when I finished, so I started to get everything ready whilst waiting for him to finish. When he had finished, we started to brew the potion, following the instructions carefully, me ensuring that we did everything perfectly.

We heated the now red potion of a bit longer, and I watched proudly as it turned yellow and started to spark.
"Sir, we've finished," Percy called out. Professor Slughorn walked over and looked at our potion.
"Very good, Mr Jackson, Miss Chase. Ten points for each of you, to Gryffindor," he said, smiling. "You may fill some of your vials with it, if you wish," he added.
"Thank you, Professor," I say, smiling at him. I thought that he was a nice teacher.  He smiled back, before he walked off. Percy and I filled a few vials with our potion and sat down, waiting.

After around five minutes, maybe a little longer, everybody else had finished too. Everybody was sitting down at their desks, facing the front of the class as professor Slughorn finished the lesson.
"Congratulations, today, students! I am very pleased to inform you that you have all done very well in brewing the Volubilis Potion. I look forward to our next lesson together, see you then. Class dismissed," he said, happily. Everyone in the class thanked him as they walked out of the room. We left the dungeons in a hurry to get to our next lesson. I pulled out my schedule, as did everyone else, just to check what we had next.
"Defence against the dark arts," I stated, looking around. Everyone one else nodded and we made our way to the class room.
