Alina Larionova sat in her conference room, about to hold a meeting with Myron Izmaylov. Just as Myron entered the room, Alina's government-issued smartphone beeped. She cracked it open and read the message.
It said: Mission report. Galkin is active.
She looked up at Myron, her icy gaze locking onto his pale face. She cocked her head and gave a smirk, then said in Russian, "Congratulations, Myron. You're off the hook- for now."
