Caleb-

The thunder suddenly crackled loud, leaving everyone to jump slightly. "Mommie, Daddy, I'm scwared." The small fragile tiny girl stated as she fiddled with her booster seat. "Baby, everything's okay. Its just a small storm with loud thunder.' Kat started to explain as she turned around to look at Victoria, their daughter.

'Wanna know something mommies parents taught her when she was a little child?" Katherine asked her as she smiled and held her hand softly. "W-What M-Mommie?" Victoria asked as she held onto her mothers warm hand. The air was thick and felt hot, but Katherine stayed positive.

"Mommies parents taught her to treat it like a small game. That even in the loudest thunderclaps, to count because it let's you know how many seconds the storms passed. And whoever got more seconds in one longggg thunder, was the winner. Okay? So would you like to try it?" She asked.

Caleb smiles softly at his mate as she got in the back of the car to sit with her two children. Jaxton and Victoria were twins from birth obviously, but Jaxton was different. He was quiet and liked his space. Caleb explained to her that even though he was only 4, he'd be like that because he wasn't really quiet, that he was more observant while enjoying the quietness. That he had been the same way as a child.

"Mommie?" Jaxtons small voice echoed over Victoria's voice. "Yes baby?" Katherine asked him. His hair was a dark jet black color, his eyes a golden brown color. Victoria's hair was brunette like her mothers, and her eyes were hazel like her mothers as well. "May I play as well?" He asked politely. "Of course baby."

So for the hour and a half that it took for Caleb to drive to the lake house they were staying at for three nights and four days with Caleb's parents, Katherine, Jaxton, and Victoria played the "Thunderclaps game." They were going to a small cabin on an old lake house resort. Unfortunately, it was in Colorado and the weather was chilly.

"Here babes. Mommy and Daddy doesnt want you to get sick. Coats and boots on." Katherine and Caleb explained as they slowly got out the car to dress their children in more appropriate clothing for the colder weather. Victoria looked like a puffed up pink marshmallow and Jaxton a blue one. "Nana! Papa!" They both screamed in excitement as they ran towards their grandparents.

"Oooooih boy!! And girl!" Caleb's father yelled out as they both jumped in his arms and he picked them up with ease. He was strong, but he was "bred" and made to be strong since he was the alpha before Caleb. Thinking of Caleb, her head turned to look at him but before it could he had wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her in. She hasn't put her coat on yet and it was a bit too chilly for her, but Caleb smiled and kissed the back of her neck. "Don't worry. We can nap later or watch movie with the kids." He commented, making Kat smile.

"How did I get so lucky with you?" She whispered, turning to Caleb as she kissed his lips softly. "I believe the luck was all mine baby." He chuckled deeply, his voice sounding a bit hoarse from the sudden climate change. Katherine shivered for the first time in a long time and Caleb frowned. "Babe, you're cold." He muttered, stating the obvious, he jogged lightly to the car and got his old high school football hoodie and gave it to her for now until they unpacked to get the rest of her warmer clothes.

She put it on, suddenly engulfed in Caleb's scent strongly, she moaned in satisfaction, her wolf purring louder than a old lazy cat. Caleb chuckled and it made Kat blush crazily. She must not have realized exactly how cold she was until she noticed how fast she had put his hoodie on. "Thank you, I love you." She whispered to him as she hugged him, feeling affectionate.

"Mmmh. Of course, anything for my kitten. I love you too baby." He replied, making it feel like her heart had skipped beats. She smiled wide and then pecked his warm soft lips with hers. "Ewww! Mommie! Cooties!!!" Victoria yelled and Jaxton followed. "Oh yeah? We have cooties?" Caleb playfully teased as he slowly ran towards his daughter and kissed her all over her face, making her burst into a giggle fit and squeal as she tried to get away. Jaxton laughed, and so Kat did it to their son as well, making him suddenly run away to their grandparents with his twin.

Walking inside the huge oversized cabin, Caleb's parents had started to explain how Caleb used to be coming up here every summer. Him and Jake used to come down with their parents and swim in the summer when it was warm enough for the event. Caleb and Jakes parents where really close, being the old Alpha (Caleb's dad) and Beta (Jakes dad) of the pack.

His mother told Katherine and the kids how Caleb would try to chase the birds away from the pond like a small guard. It made Katherine, Jaxton and Victoria giggle yet smile. "He must have been so adorable." Kat mentioned and Caleb's mother soon agreed. "Oh it was really cute!" She explained.

Hours passed and the fireplace crackled to life with the pops of the wood and the sound of the fire burning bright. Katherine slowly walked down the stairs as she let out a sigh of relief and relaxation. "Jaxton and Victoria are asleep." She told Caleb as she slowly sat down beside him. "Come here baby." Caleb smiled softly as she sat down beside him. He wrapped his arm around her and pulled her close until her head was resting on his shoulder.

"I'm so proud of you. And you're the perfect mother to my pups." He whispered, making her blush and look up at him. She smiled. "Well, I do have a pretty good fiancé to help me if I'm ever overloaded." She replied, chuckling softly. "Well, I do agree!" Caleb playfully teased her. "Oh? Is that so? Well you can sleep on the couch Mr. Big and Bad." She said.

Katherine was only kidding around, but Caleb must not have caught on, because he growled and pulled Katherine to him by her hips
He kissed her collarbone softly and then looked up at her through his eyelashes. "Don't deny me what's mine babe. I will sleep next to my mate and that's final." He stated in a demanding 'try and test me and I'll show you who you belong to' playful attitude. "Mmmh. Yes sir." And Kat giggled.

Putting her back to his front, they watched movies until late that night, curled and cuddled up to each other until they both went to sleep. "I love you baby." Caleb whispered as he spooned Kat, pulling her close to him. "I love you too babe." She whispered, closing her eyes.
