"Welcome to the 2023 Grammy Awards hosted by yours truly! Tonight we honor and celebrate the success of many prominent members of the entertainment, business, and music industries. We also have a VERY special surprise from one of our performers tonight. The 2023 Grammy Awards will be the most talked about award show of the year. And onto our first category of business..."
"I wonder who's gonna make the surprise during their performance tonight." Lauren whispered into Y/N's ear as Miley Cyrus opened up the three hour award show. The hazel eyed girl smiled at her pregnant girlfriend and attentive daughter.
"I know, I wish whoever surprises the world an enormous amount of luck tonight."
With all the prominent business icons and youth leaders honored, the show was timed at an hour and twenty minutes with two performances by Tori Kelly, who opened the show and Alessa Cara who performed shortly after the last award was handed to the woman who owned the Lush Industry franchises. The next category was music: Y/N's domain.
"This is the first award you were nominated for. Are you nervous?" Lauren asked as the "Best New Artist" award was presented by David Beckham and Leona Lewis.
"Always. But you make it better." Before Y/N could kiss the blush off her hopefully soon to be wife's face, the cameras zoomed in on her, her name being chanted through the packed arena. She'd won her first Grammy.
"You did it momma!" Dreya beamed jumping into her mother's arms as she kissed her and Lauren's faces.
"Go get em tiger." Lauren whispered into her ear. She walked down the isle, smiling and shaking hands with everyone she could, including the fans. They were after all the reason she'd won a Grammy.
"This feels so surreal," the proud, unprepared hazel eyed woman sighed, holding the gold cup in her shaky hands. She hoped the cameras wouldn't pick that up. "First and foremost, I need to thank my wonderful, amazing, and super supportive fans. You guys have given me so much hope and love over these past few months and I couldn't thank you enough." The crowds roared as Y/N paused to gather her thoughts. They were loving her.
"And secondly, my beautiful girlfriend Lauren and our little daughter Dreya. I couldn't thank you two more for standing by my side through all of the thick and the thins I put you through. It damn sure wasn't easy - and now I owe Dreya another dollar - but you believed in me and kept me lifted Lauren. Everything I've achieved today and in these last few months has been because of your love and faith in me. Lastly, I want to thank LA Reid, and everyone down at Def Jam Records who helped me build this illustrious career. Thank you everybody."
"You were shaking harder than California during an earthquake. I take it you're still nervous about your "performance" in a few?" Y/N's assistant Trevor asked as she walked backstage to change for her upcoming performance.
"Trevor you have no idea. Wish me luck."
Dressed in an all black ensemble that lit up in the dark, Y/N paced the floor of the high rise as one of the announcers introduced her.
"I can do this. This is it, no turning back." She willed herself, her nerves calming as she reached the platform of the stage.
'Tonight's the night I make you mine Lauren Jauregui. Forever."
"--- I won't let go. I'll be your lifeline tonight. I won't let go - "
The music abruptly stopped, giving Y/N the que she needed. It was the last of the songs she'd performed, and by the time she reached Lauren on the third row of the seats, both their eyes were wide and their bodies were trembling. Lauren didn't know what exactly was happening, but it didn't take a genius to figure it out.
"You've been my lifeline for so long baby. I'm so nervous right now I'm literally shaking. I want to give you the world you deserve Lauren. Will you do me the honors ---"
The arena filed with the loudest cheers of the night as Y/N got down on one knee, holding open a black velvet box that contained a ten carat diamond ring.

"Would you do me the extreme honor of making me the happiest woman in the world? Will you marry me Lauren?" Y/N's heart felt as if it were about to drop right in front of her on the ground she knelt on. She couldn't believe it. Through all of the ups and downs she faced, and all of the madness; Lauren Jauregui was finally becoming Lauren Jauregui - Y/L/N.
"Oh my God baby. I love you so much!" Lauren pressed her tear stained lips against Y/N's, both holding their unborn child and six year old in their hands.
"I love you so much more Lauren. Thank you so much for sticking by me." Both girls had forgotten that Y/N's mic was still on, but neither of them really cared. In a few months time, even now, they would be each others until the day they died in each others arms with their kids living as successful and happy as them.
