I did a double take at what I was hearing. "Your what?" I asked in shock turning to bhai who was standing on my left with his heavy arm draped around my shoulders and then in front of me at his supposedly best friend.

To say I was shocked was one thing. I was shocked beyond shock. My professor is my brother's best friend. Can this day get any worse? Great! Just great! This is what I needed. Note to sarcasm!

"Best friend. Why do you look so surprised?" Bhai asked me looking surprised at my surprised look

"He is your best friend! The same Asher bhai who used to tease me so much?" I asked raising my eyebrow totally caught unawares.

Why the hell am I calling him a professor? He is outside of the University. I should call him by his name right. But he is probably older that me. I shouldn't be calling him by his name. After all, my mother did teach me how to respect my elders.

"The one and only!" This time, it was Asher bhai who replied smirking at me.

"So you knew?"I asked him this time.

"That you were the same cute little girl? Actually no, I didn't remember your name," he admitted sheepishly.

I ignored the fact that a guy called me cute that too in front of my brother. Who does he think he is? First, he embarrasses me in front of everyone in the class and now he is acting all kind and sweet. Sweet my foot!

"OK, wait what's going on and how do you to know each other?" Bhai asked suspiciously looking between the two of us

"Oh, he teaches us in University," I answered

"Oh yes of course!" Bhai said rolling his eyebrow

"What of course?" I questioned

He didn't answer my question and instead asked Asher about the baby he was holding.

"Oh, this is Aliyan; Haya's son." Asher bhai answered

"Aww. He's so cute!" Bhai replied pinching the baby's cheeks affectionately.

"So how many kids do you have? A dozen by now I presume?" He teased bhai.

"No such luck yet." How can bhai be so casual about it? If Nawal bhabhi was here she would have blushed scarlet by now!

But why would Aher bhai call his own son someone else's son I wondered silently watching the whole exchange between them. That's weird. What kind of father is he?

I quickly reminded Shahveer bhai that we needed to get going as we had to drop by the restaurant too.

They hugged and shook their hands and bhai came to the car. I don't know why but seeing that jerk of a teacher really dampened my spirits. He such a weird guy! In uni he's so dead serious and now he is so different and lets not forget how rude he is in uni!

Shahveer bhai told me to drive because he was very really tired. I got into the driver's seat and my hand instinctively went to turn the music on, but to my surprise bhai turned it off.

"What?" I asked him in irritation.

"Don't you know that music is haram?" he asked raising his eyebrow

"It's haram?" I asked him in surprise."Why would music be haram? It is so relaxing and it makes me forget my worries!" I exclaimed

"Have you ever thought that music is like drugs? Intoxicating." He asked me

"Like drugs?!" I asked utterly surprised

"Yes like drugs. Just like drugs makes one feel good, calm, relaxing, and one forgets about worries. But for how long? These feelings last as long as you are high. The only difference is that music makes us feel that on a slightly lower level" he explained
