I stood there in shock. My body was still processing this new information. Should I be happy? Or sad? Tears ran down my cheeks. Turning around, I ran to my brother as my two best friends followed me.

Bhai saw my face and his eyes widened. He quickly pulled me into a tight hug without wasting any time. He softly ran his hand down my long brown hair.

"It's alright. You'll get it next time, inshallah" he cooed

Pulling away from him, I gave him a weird look, "I can not believe you would say something like that, bhai."

"What?!" He looked confused "you are came running to me with tears in your eyes and your face is puffed up too. That could only mean one thing, Fareesa."

"These tears" I pointed to my face "are tears of happiness."

"You-you idiot! And here I thought that you failed." He said in frustration

"Jeez bhai. Thanks for believing in me" I stated sarcastically

"I will never stop believing in you and you know that" he smiled

"I know bhai! I know" I hugged him tightly, wrapping my arms around his big waist

"Okay, now you are choking me" he coughed out

"Sorry" I giggled pulling away

"I am so busted when I get home today" muttered Sarah from beside me.

"Same" Karen nodded in agreement

"Why?"

"We got B on our final" they spoke together

"That's not a bad grade," bhai looked confused

"Dude! I know it is not a bad grade. It's not bad for us, students but for desi parents. Oh boy!!" She laughed nervously

"Once they see that B on the report card, they are like 'why did you get B? And not A' or 'your not studying enough' or 'look at blah blah daughter. She got much better grade than you.' Or 'You are always on your phone!'" Sarah mocked "they are never satisfied with our grades. They never get how hard we work on our studies."

"It's alright. If you tell them how you fell, I am sure they will understand" I advised

"Fareesa you shut up right now. You don't have to worry, you git an excellent result like that." Karen said to me playfully.

"I am smart like that!" I exclaimed, showing her my tongue.

"More like a nerd machine," Sarah mumbled

"Shut up. Ima go now." I said.

Sarah hugged me and so did Karen. I walked to Bhai's car.

"I'll see you girls tomorrow" I yelled from Bhai's car

"Happy?" Asked bhai, starting their car

"Of course I am" I exclaimed in excitement

"You should call mom and dad. They will be very pleased with this wonderful news, inshallah" bhai suggested

"Nah! I wanna surprise them" I smiled evilly.

"Please don't make that face, " said bhai

"Why? Scared?" I teased

"Scared? Puff! No! Let's be honest, your face is scarier than Boogey man" he remarked

"Yo-you big meany" I slapped his bicep "wait till I tell bhabhi."
