-Faressa-
It has been couple weeks since I got married. Things are still awkward between us. However, I have to say somethings are comfortable between us.
Rubbing my eyes, I got up from the bed. Looking to my right I see Asher sleeping like a baby. His chocolate brown eyes were laid on his forehead as he snored lightly. Just like a baby.
Before getting up from the bed, I removed the pillows between us. Yes, we put pillows between us. It was my idea, to be honest, and he was okay with it. I never slept with a man in my life. While when I was a little kid, I use to sleep with my dad whenever mom would go for a visit to grandma's house. I was uncomfortable knowing that I was in the same bed as another man. Well, my husband but it would take a while to get used to that, but I am glad that he is being patient with me.
Asher has been nothing but very sweet to me. He would never raise his voice or snap at me. He uses his gentle voice on me. whenever he wanted to go outside at night, he would always ask me if I wanted to go with him. But being very busy with my University I had to decline it every single time even though I do feel bad for not spending time with him.
Heading toward the bathroom, I did my business. Then came out of the bathroom, I headed to the kitchen to make some breakfast for us too. I wanted to make something special today. I don't know why but I just felt like it to somehow make up for the way I am so busy. I have read enough boos and seen enough soaps to know that such distances definitely don't help in a relationship. I wanted to be happy with my husband and keep him happy too.
I discarded my useless thoughts and tried to think of what I knew how to make. I am not a frst class cook or anything but I can make a few things.
I thought of making Peanut Butter and Banana French Toast, Oatmeal and strawberry smoothie. Maybe I will make something special for lunch. Since he comes home to eat lunch with me. Another thing I like about Asher is that he waits for me when it's time to eat. He never eats without me. He says that it's not fun to eat alone but I can see the respect in his eyes for me. Others treat their wives as the dust of their shoes but Asher isn't like that. All my perceptions of his rudeness are slowly fading away as he is always so well behaved with his family and even respects my family like his own.
Getting out the ingredient I started to prepare the breakfast. It took time to prepare it, considering I was no expert. From the kitchen, I heard the bathroom shower being on. I knew that he woke up and is taking a shower. That's his routine: wakes up to his alarm, takes a shower, has breakfast while reading the newspaper and then heads straight to office. It is not hard to make out his routine since he is a very punctual, no nonsense person and considering we are the only one living in this whole house.
Without wasting any time, I cooked very fast. He will be very hungry when he comes down. One thing I learned about this man is that he loves his food but maybe every man does.
"Good morning" He greeted walking in the kitchen
"Good morning" I greeted back without turning around
"It's bad to give people your back when your greeting them" he stated
Releasing a sigh, I turned around and smiled, "Good morning."
"Much better" he stated
He was wearing his usual suit that made him look very handsome. He had his hair in modern men's hairstyle and it suits him. Especially with that white shirt and black coat on top.
"Whats for breakfast?" he questioned
"I made the strawberry smoothie, Oatmeal and Peanut Butter and Banana French Toast. Which would you like?" I put the plate of Oatmeal on the kitchen Islam.
