Dawn's POV
I sighed with relief as I safely landed on my feet. I looked up and there is no sign of him. I glanced quickly from left to right, silently praying that he was alone and I sighed again when i was pretty sure that he was alone. I hurriedly walked across the street, not forgetting to thank my lucky stars as I was able to escape that man! I started to pace faster but not enough to catch any attention from anyone. I wouldn't want to encounter another wolf as I'm making my escape from the latter.
After a while, I decided to rest. I am now currently inside a bookshop. I needed to think about what happened earlier and about Carly's whereabouts. But before that, I need to sit down. My legs are killing me. It's been a while since I had a decent exercise. I scanned the room for a sofa or a chair when I saw a table at the far end of the room. Better, I said to myself. There were two tables for two and the other one is occupied by a guy who is wearing a black cap. Seriously, who wears a cap inside a room? I wanted to give myself a smack in the head. Now is not the time to question one's action. I gave a more thorough look at the guy and decided that he is harmless; he's probably hiding his face because he's shy. I mean look at those arms, even the shirt can't hide the muscles underneath. I wanted to laugh at my own folly but I remembered why I was here and if I wanted to survive the next few days, I need to start focus on what is important.
I quietly sat on the other table with my back on him. I took my phone out and tried calling Carly. As expected, there was no answer from her.
'Shit'
Where could she be? I've repeatedly ask myself this question but I don't arrive to simple conclusion as to her whereabouts. The door opened and I let out a breathe that I didn't realize by the way i was holding at that very moment as I saw that it was just a student who I think is about to buy a book.
I went back into organizing my thoughts.
How did they found out about me? I was sure that no one was following me these past few days and there was nothing suspicious persons either. I've always kept conversations with stranger to minimum. I started to bite my nails. This is a habit of mine that goes to show that I'm nervous and stressed at the same time. Carly could be danger right now. Another distressing idea came into my mind and I find it rather preposterous. Maybe, just maybe Carly was the one who informed the pack that there was a rogue in their midst. I chuckled, as I've said earlier the idea was preposterous. Why would she do that? If she told her Alpha about me then no doubt she would be in trouble. Helping a rogue is a really big deal. Besides, she's my friend. She won't do that to me. She's got too much to lose.
The sound of the chair scraping on the floor woke me from my thoughts. The man in black cap, yeah I decided to call him that went to a shelf full with his back onto me. Damn, that's one fine view and that ass! I chastise myself realizing that I've just eye raped a man and blushed furiously as he reached out for a book making his muscles flex. His arms weren't bulging or anything but they were delectable.
They sure are.
'Emryl?' I weakly called out to her
Yes?
'You're back!'
It appears so.
I nearly cried on the spot as I communicated with her.
'It's been so long,Em.'
I know but you gotta run right now.
'Why?We're safe here.'
We're not. You have to go Dawn.
But before I could make a move a hand has made its way through my throat, gripping it so tight making me gasp for air. In front of me is no other than the man wearing a black cap and boy he was handsome alright.
Really, you find a time to admire his looks while he's choking you?
'What? Can't I admire boys now?'
I didn't receive a reply and I'm pretty sure she's sulking somewhere. She always does this when she thinks our conversation makes no sense.
'Emryl? Emryl?'
I called out to her but she didn't answer. Wow. Talk about friends.
My instincts kicked in and I tried to push him away from me but to no avail. Damn, he's got a powerful grip.I was slowly losing strength and I could feel myself slowly losing consciousness. The last thing that I see is the face of my captor or killer , whatever before I succumb to the darkness.
