Chapter 16:

Dawn's POV

"What the fuck?"

Levi was groaning on the floor.

"Why are you in my bed?"

"Because I was sleeping, you dimwit"

"Not that! What I meant was why are you still here? I thought you went back to your room last night"

But instead of answering, he merely stood up. 'Why are you so grouchy this morning? You were so cuddly last night."

'Because I thought I was hugging my pillow, not you!'

"Yeah yeah, whatever floats your boat."

Just then, someone knocked on the door. 'Levi' echoed Carly's voice. 'You're needed downstairs'

'Uhm, you knocked on the wrong door' I quickly responded.

'Yeah yeah' she answered in the same tone as Levi's. 'Levi, it's urgent'

Levi opened the door as soon as Carly stopped talking. She looked horrible. Her hair was unkept. She handed Levi a white shirt. 'Hurry, they're waiting for you downstairs.'

"Is everything okay?' I asked, sensing something must be up for both of them to act this way.

"Oh? Nothing is wrong sweetie! My night was amazing. Edward and I- '

"EW. No! What I meant was downstairs. What's happening downstairs?' I repeated, emphasizing my last words. Carly contemplated, choosing her words carefully.

'Pack business' she answered quietly. 'Remember yesterday? They're supposed to meet someone from another pack, their Alpha to be precise, but he didn't show up that's why they were able to attend dinner last night.'

She closed the door and sat on the bed. 'Then, just this morning' she continued. 'We got a message from our men guarding in the border. The Alpha wanted to meet Levi and demanded entry in our territory. That's why I was sent here to pick him up. Mom and Dad are already there, apparently the Alpha brought his own men. It's quite a chaos actually.'

"Really? What a jerk!"

'Yeah but he is still an Alpha."

'Yeah but demanding immediate entry on another pack's territory without informing the pack is tantamount to declaring a war!'

Carly simply smiled. "True but don't stress yourself about it. Levi can handle it. What we should be talking about though is you."

"Me? What about me?' I asked obtusely.

"Why was Levi in your room?"

I rolled my eyes. "You have to ask him about that. He was here when I woke up.' I shrugged, omitting the fact that he spent the night.

"Right' she grinned.

"Yep. Well, I'm going to take a shower and you should too." I joked. "You stink!'

'What? No, I don't' she stopped me. 'Wait as sec!'

"What?' I gave her an exasperated look.

'Are you prepared for this weekend?'

"Why what's happening this weekend?'

'It's the ball duh'

"Oh, but I'm not attending."
