I kept my hand firmly in Jenny's as we both walked slowly down the abandoned corridors of the hideout.

"Ava?" Jenny asked out of the blue as we begun nearing the infirmary part of the hideout.

"What Jen?" I asked a slight tone of happiness in my voice as I held her hand since it made me feel happy and comfortable on the inside. (A/N not in a sexual way! Jenny and Ava will never be together they are only really close because of the protector bond!)

A moment of silence past and I felt as if Jen had forgotten what she was about to say and just yell out in frustration 'I FORGOT! DAMMIT!'But that didn't happen...it shocked me what she said.

"I'm sacred..." She whispered her voice so quiet it was as if she wasn't even there anymore and she had just faded away and become one with the air and concrete walls of the hallway.

I tensed slightly the thought of Jen being in any type of danger. It was that moment you realised that someone you love was just diagnosed with cancer or a rare heart condition that you know one day they may leave you, I could feel as my heart skipped a beat at her words.

"What do you mean!" I stopped and knelt on the ground my voice wavering and anxious with the different thoughts that invaded my brain.

I was in front of her my eyes scanning her appearance to check for steady breathing, check.

My ears checking for her soft heartbeat and steady breathing, check.

Then I gave her forehead a light tap with the back of my hand in case if she had a low or high temperature, check.

Jenny was looking at me with an amused expression her tiny hands pressed against her mouth in a way that was most likely a hope to not let a chuckle pass through. Her eyes were filled with utter humour and glee as she stared down at me little crinkles forming in the corners of her eyes and forehead as the laughter seemed to reach its breaking point.

I gave Jenny a raised eyebrow with a hint of a smirk as I finally realised that she had meant something completely different and hadn't bothered to tell me so I looked like a complete and utter fool in the hallway. I crossed my arms lazily over my chest and pointed my fluffy ears to the roof in a mock hatred and annoyance stance as I knelt on the floor "that's not very nice," I mumbled.

Jen let out a small chuckle, her eyes closing in amusement and a couple of hairs to fall across her eyes and forehead as she slightly bent over her arms around her waist as the chuckle slipped past her perfect and healthy pink lips.

Letting out a chuckle of my own I stood up and offered my hand back down to Jen who was still slowly sobering up from her laughter. She looked up at my hand and gave a quick look up at me as if to say if it was 'okay' to hold my hand, her brown eyes looking up at me in a silent plea to let me hold her hand.

For an answer I grasped her small hand in mine and pulled her softly along with me down the hallway.

A couple of pack members walked by us as we slowly made our way to the infirmary the way seeming to get longer and longer.

"I was serious about how I'm scared," Jen told me yet again. I looked down at her to check and see if she was looking up at me for comfort but her eyes seemed to have found the floor more entertaining and interesting instead of looking at my face and eyes.

My tail twitched in an odd sensation the feeling unknown to me before, I slowly wrapped the grey fluffiness of my tail around Jenny's waist in a silent hug and supportive way and she relaxed under the feeling.
