Chapter 13..... Making Deals
Klaus
I walk outside of Big Auggie's Bayou Bar and talk to Rebekah on my cell phone. “Let me understand this, against all logic, you, Hayley, and Star went to the bayou, where you ran into a man you think may be Marcel's informant, and then you lost him” I said not believing him.
“Yes, and now that we've established that I am a failure as a sister, and a friend, and an Original, you should probably know he's on his way to Marcel right now to rat me out. Skinny guy in a hurry, looks like he saw a ghost” Rebekah said “he probable saw Rebekah face” I heard Star say and smiled. “I'll handle it, but I'll need a distraction” “anything to get out of this dump, I'm on my way”.
Rebekah
“Isn't this like old times? Just how drunk are you two” I said putting an arm around both of their shoulders. Klaus fakes slurring words, “Skating on the razor's edge. I'm gonna use the loo. Back in a tick” Klaus said and gets up. “ I haven't seen him this lushy since the '20s” I say looking at Marcel. “So you came to take him home” Marcel asked “ why else would I be here” I asked him.
Marcel smiled “I don't know. Maybe to make sure I didn't get too drunk and spill secrets better left unspilled about you and me. I know better”. “I hope so, because you don't wanna end up on the wrong side of me”. “Oh, Rebekah Mikaelson. You do not wanna be on the wrong side of me” Marcel said and we stared at each other intently”.
Klaus
I walk outside and see Tomas, who has just returned from the bayou. “Tomas, I presume. Marcel asked me to find out what you know about the dead witches” I say and put an arm around him. I lead him away from the bar “I heard they were going after some pregnant werewolf. She was stupid, being out there all alone” Tomas said with a smile.
“Yeah, she was, wasn't she? It's amazing how gullible some people can be” I chuckled and broke his neck as my smile disappeared.
Elijah
I proudly hold up Tim's violin “you may return this now to its rightful owner. It's restored”. Davina takes the instrument and stares at it sadly “I don't even know if I'll see him again” Davina said. The room starts to shake, as if they're in an earthquake. Elijah and Davina look around worriedly, and the window shutters burst open as the shaking stops.
“Davina, this power that you contain, drawn from your fallen friends—it's too much for you. You need control, which requires study and practice. Now, my mother was a very powerful witch. She left behind her grimoires, a legacy of books filled with spells. These books contain all of the tools that you might need to control your magic. If you free me from here, I can share them with you. However, if you leave now with Marcel, we'll never see each other again, and I cannot find you, and I can't help you” I say to Davina.
“The witches manipulated me. You know how that ended” Davina said setting the violin down. “This is not manipulation. This is one thing in exchange for another, I'm offering you a deal, will you take it.
Klaus
I enter the bar again and see the Marcel is gone, Rebekah returns to the bar from the restroom. “That was fast work, Rebekah where's Marcel? In there, touching up his lipstick” I asked with my smile. “Credit me with some taste, it's filthy in there. Where'd he go” Rebekah ask looking around.
I looked at her worried “he didn't tell you he was leaving” “ No. Do you think he realized we were stalling him”. I looked mad “no. Unless... he was stalling us.
Davina
Marcel bursts into my room. Elijah is hiding in his coffin. Marcel claps his hands “okay, now's our shot. You ready to blow this joint” I smile “can't wait”. Marcel grabs my suitcase and we get ready to leave the room “we'll leave Elijah behind as a parting gift. Might buy me a little forgiveness for pulling one over on his siblings. Let's go” Marcel says.
We leave the attic, though I take one final parting glance at my room before I go. Marcel walks ahead of me and I knew now was the time. I stop suddenly in the middle of the church's main room, and Marcel turns to look at me. “What's wrong, what's happening” Marcel asked.
The church starts shaking, and my body tenses up and starts to spasm. “I don't know. Something's wrong” I say, as Marcel runs up to me to help me. “Marcel. There's something dangerous out there. Take me back” I say the pass out as Marcel catches me “damn it” Marcel says.
Marcel picks me up and carries me back to my room. Marcel brings me back up to my room and puts me into my bed. He tucks me in under the blankets, and after looking at me for a moment, he takes his leave. Once he's gone, I opens my eyes and lifts my head “Elijah” I call out.
Elijah comes out of hiding “I'm pleased you stayed” Elijah said with a smile. I got out of bed “you'll keep your promise about your mother's spell book”. “I will. You know, difficulties aside, I value my family above everything. I am sorry that yours failed you” he says to me.
“Your brother Klaus handed you to Marcel in a box, yet you still don't give up on him” I ask Elijah. “Well, I've given up on giving up. It's an affliction” Elijah says “and who do you think will make him care again” “two very important woman” Elijah says to me.
I was silent for a second “I will fight for my family until my last breath”. “And I'll fight the witches until mine” I say with a straight face.
