Chapter 10
Jung Soel Chan
I'm still so pissed at what Beggar did to me yesterday. But ditching her at the auditorium was one thing that made me feel so bad for her. She definitely didnot deserve it.
In my defence, I did go to the auditorium. I saw her there standing by the door, waiting for me. Then she went inside. I planned on following her inside but then, out of nowhere, Charlie shows up.
Why does this guy always show up at situations like this and especially when Beggar is around. He's my best friend, why go talk to my enemies? I need to talk to him. Man to man. That's when I decided to go inside again, to drag Charlie out with me.
As I neared the door, I heard singing. They were again singing like the last time. Though this time Beggar joined him too. I didn't like it. She was my partner, she needs to sing with me, and not with anyone else. Traitor!
The singing stopped and I heard footsteps coming towards the auditorium door, I hid at my earier spot again when Beggar comes out.
Maybe she's leaving now. I thought to myself.
She left the place. And I stayed there, watching her go as moved slower than a snail. Five minutes later, Charlie comes out too. Glancing around the place. Then he took the same path that the Beggar did.
I didnot expect him to follow her, and I wanted to believe that but who knows, I followed him too.
Though I lost Charlie for a while on the road. I never went this far without my car and that was pretty far. The cold was killing me but I needed to get my senses straight. I needed to find them. As I take a turn, I see them. Together, holding each other.
I mean, literally holding and hugging. For some reason, she was crying way too much! My heart starts to do this crazy flips and my breathing gets heavier.
Why is she hugging him? My best friend? What's going on?
I try to make my way towards them but thought otherwise.
I don't care! Whatever! I was so angry at that time, I couldn't hold it in. I turned around and found my way back to my car. I drove away, just like that.
Oh, I hate her! Hate her so much!
So, that was all on my mind until Charlie told me his side of story. She got caught by some creepy rapist. This is the part where I feel sorry for her. She was waiting for me, If only I've come at time and rehersed, she wouldn't have met that creepy man.
I started it, she was right. It's all my fault. I can never imagine what she's going through. Thank God, Charlie got there on time. This time, I am very grateful to Charlie, never have I've been this grateful than today!
He's my best friend. He saved me from the guilt that I might had to live with forever. But this dude, my best friend, my brother saved me from it! Also, I'm happy that Charlie was just trying to calm her down that day. There's nothing going on between them.
I mean, I'm just happy for Charlie. I don't want him to interact with that girl, or feel anything for her other than sympathy or pity. Charlie is a nice dude, he feels for everyone around him. So, I guess that Beggar and him are totally not on the terms that I was thinking on.
I start to smile and feel myself go calm. I'm just about to go out of the class for a while when Beggar steps in. I stop and look at her going towards her chair.
She has her head bowed, and looks like she's out of space. Her eyes are lost and have dark circles around them. She slowly moves forward as she clumsly walks. Finally, reaching at her desk, she raises her head slightly. Looking at Charlie, she gives him a smile.
