Shadows to Stages

Dear diary,

Now the competition is serious. There were 56 teams attending and now half the teams are gone. The competition is fierce and there is no room for mistakes. This round is a 6 person dance with 3 members from two teams, each round two teams will be going home so I hope the team are willing to work with us,and hopefully pull out a win.

Me, Daniel and Abigail went to go meet the team we were working with. We saw Beldovere walking towards us and we prayed they weren't working with us. They came up to us and I knew we were with Beldovere. They all threw their eyes to the ceiling at us.  Working with them isn't going to be easy, but if we want to progress, we have no choice.

Seeing Scott again really stressed me out. Also Sasha's conversation with me it was really throwing me off my game. I was just going to push through it and pull through a win for Oatfield, not Beldovere. We had no intention of working with them, but as I said we had no choice.

We went to the practice room and just sat on the floor. Of course, they don't want to work with us. I stood up and said 'Okay, look at us. Listen,I know none of us want to work together, but if you want your team to progress, we'll get up and let's make a winning dance.' Everyone then got up and we started working. The dance is going really well, surprisingly.

The whole concept is Daniel is a prince and me, Abigail and Sasha are princesses that are trying to win his heart. William and Scott are his advisers and are helping him choose. It's really fun. I'm excited to go and perform.

We walked on stage and I was extremely nervous. But I was ready to do this for Oatfield, not Beldovere. We started the dance and everything seemed to be going smoothly. The storyline is really strong and the crowd seemed to love it. I do this really cool lift and it went really well.  The end is my favourite because the advisers choose me and I become his princess. We finished and got a standing ovation. The two other teams came on. 'The team advancing to the next round is.............Oatfield and Beldovere.'

I was so happy. We advance to the next round and don't have to work with Beldovere again.

All dance captains were called for another meeting. I didn't really know why because the competition is over today. I really wanted to go home and rest. The manager said 'We just found out that the next round is also commencing today. For some reason it's today. I'm very sorry for this confusion.' I saw Sasha chuckle and I knew she had something do with it. I was going to find out.

I approached her and said 'What did you do? I know you did something here.' She said 'I have no idea what you are talking about.' I said 'Listen, I know you're lying.' I walked out and went to tell my team. I told them and everyone was really mad. Though Abigail seemed sort of suspicious, but it's probably because she's nervous about her solo or just that the next round is today.

The soloists for this round all went to the practice room. Me, Maya, Daniel and Luke were talking about the whole confusion, but Abigail was just practicing her solo and again looked guilty and suspicious. I'm starting to get worried about her. I'll probably just talk to her about it later.

We were all practicing our solos and everyone's seems to be going great. The lineup for the genres is Ballet, Hip hop, lyrical, Jazz then Contemporary. So if we want the team to advance to the semi finals, it's all on me. No pressure.

My solo I've been practicing for a while and it just need some fixing but it's getting there.

Abigail's solo incorporates ballet and lyrical, with some tricks. She's doing amazing at her solo and she going to bring it on stage.

Maya's solo is jazzy and incorporates acro. It's really fun and entertaining so she is totally going to kill it.

Daniels solo is really good. It's lyrical but also has tricks. He's got so much passion and he's going to do great.

Luke's solo is unreal. It's so energetic and so much fun to watch. The crowd is going to love it and hopefully the judges too.

All of our solos are definitely going to give Oatfield an advantage over the rest of the teams. It will really show the other teams who they are up against.

We were busy practicing when Mrs Williams came in and said 'Bad news. The line up has been changed.' We all said 'What? How?' Mrs said 'I don't know how but....Bella you're up first, and Abigail you're last. The rest is the same. I'm not sure why this happened, sorry.' Mrs walked out and I dropped to the floor. I was so upset. But yet again Abigail looked suspicious, she's really starting to worry me.

Mrs came in a while later and said 'Bella, it's time. Come on we need to get you ready.' I was not ready but I was still positive. Each genre two teams go home. So I better do great because if I mess we're going home in the first part.

I'm the last competitor for the contemporary round so I get to end it with a bang. I take the stage and I'm ready to perform. I do all my tricks and my pirouettes and the crowd seem to be liking it. I finish and get a standing ovation. All the others teams come back on stage. I'm so nervous to find out if I got through. 'The two teams leaving are.....Starbound Dance Academy and Perfection for the Arts School.' I'm so happy. Though the line up changed, I still kept our team in with a chance to win. Next Luke was going up, and he's obviously going to do amazing. His dance is so entertaining. He started and the crowd already seemed to be loving it. He finished and got a standing ovation. All the teams came back on stage and we were really positive. 'The two teams leaving are.....Drama School for the Arts and Strike a pose Academy.' We got through to the next part. Next it's Daniel . His solo isamazing. He's such a good dancer, so he's going to get through to the next part. He takes the stage, and he's already doing amazing. He has so many tricks. He finished and got another standing ovation. All other teams came back on stage. 'The two teams leaving are.....Attitude Dance Studio and Beatz Dance Studio.' We have two parts left so it's all up to Maya and Abigail. So now it's up to Maya. She's so sassy and the crowd will be so entertained. She took the stage and honestly she brought so much fire to the competition. She finished and got another standing ovation. All other teams came back on stage. 'The two teams leaving are.....Starstruck Dance Academy and Academics of the Arts.' Finally. We only need to get through one more part. So it's all up to Abigail. I walked up to Abigail before she went on stage and said 'Good luck.' I tried to hug her but she just walked onto stage. It's kind of weird how she just gave me the cold shoulder. Anyway she still did amazing with her solo. She finished and got another standing ovation. All teams came back on stage. 'The two teams leaving are.....Amazed Dance School and Dance Public Academy.' We made it through the genre round. Now we only have to do semi finals and then finals.

Today we went from 28 teams to 4. All I know is that it's going to get harder and no room for mistakes.
